Excellent pocket cruiser, perfect for the New England coast and beyond. Hull in very good condition. Re-powered with Yanmar 3YM20 in 2012. Low (estimated) engine hours in excellent condition. Sails and standing rigging in very good condition. Currently on the hard in Wareham, MA.
This 1988 Beneteau 320 masthead sloop is of fiberglass construction built by Beneteau Yachts in France and designed by Philipp e Brian with round bilge displacement type hull bottom, fin keel and spade type rudder with tiller steering.Entering the vessel via the stern you arrive in the cockpit area with port and starboard bench style seats covered with teak. To starboard and aft is the propane tank locker complete with tank and regulator. Moving forward and down the companionway you enter the main cabin area with quarter berth to port and enclosed head to starboard. Moving forward you find the navigation station to port with main electrical panel. Moving forward and to starboard is the salon area with u-shaped seating and folding table. Opposite of the salon area to port is the galley equipped with two burner LP stove with oven, double single sink and refrigerated ice box. Moving forward through the main bulkhead you arrive in the forward cabin with traditional v-style berth with filler cushion. Also located in the forward berth is a hanging locker.
This is a great opportunity to own a simple, very comfortable, well built and sea-worthy sailboat capable of plying our coastal waters and beyond with confidence. The boat has made at least one known Atlantic crossing. Easily single handed with the new SIMRADTP10 tiller pilot. New bottom paint, bootstripe and waxing. Sinks and faucets recently replaced along with a Corian countertop in the galley. Head interior recently painted. One starter and two house batteries are one season old. The 100 W aft mounted solar collectors keep the batteries charged. Fixed acrylic portlights were recently replaced and properly bedded.
There are other cosmetic improvements to be made on the interior which were started but abandoned when we purchased a bigger boat. The refrigerator compressor will need to be replaced although the icebox works fine using ice. The windlass motor should be replaced for convenience, although the anchor may be easily hoisted by hand. Sails are in good shape but could use some attention by a sailmaker. The main cabin cushions were re-covered one year ago with high quality Sunbrella fabric.
In short, this is a wonderful boat for a couple or small family looking to explore the amazing New England coast with all its beautiful little harbors without breaking the bank. The systems are simple and easy to work on. With a bit of effort the teak can be restored as we had planned. This Beneteau Oceanis 320 is a well designed sailing machine of modest size requiring minimal upkeep. Sorry to let it go but one boat is plenty at my age. I can deliver the boat most anywhere in the northeast, and beyond if necessary. Inflatable with outboard may be purchased separately.
