Please read this entire post before reaching out. A website is now available that provides more information: https://www.afabricationllc.com/. Note this is in the Space Coast region but parts are regularly shipped all over the country.
I am not a professional machinist and the goal is to provide quick turn-around, affordable functional parts. I do not currently have CNC capabilities. Some of the services offered are:
General milling machine work (drilling, milling, slots, counterbores, rotary table work etc.)
General lathe work (turning, boring, tapers, snap ring groove, knurling etc.)
Hole tapping and thread repair (powered tapping for up to 3/4" bolt through steel, larger sizes possible depending on requirements)
Bandsaw cutting: max diameter 7"
Bead blast finish available (smaller components, less than 16" long and 10" wide) for an additional charge.
CAD services available for a flat rate
Custom designs to help get you back up and running
Many required parts can be made: plates, brackets, adapters, standoffs, bushings etc. in most materials (plastic, aluminum, steel, stainless steel etc.) With the equipment available, if you need parts machined within a few ten thousands of an inch I will likely not be able to hold these tolerances. I offer manual machining and will be up front if I think the part exceeds the capabilities required. My interests are one-off specialty parts to help you move your task forward with unique custom solutions to get you out of a bind. I can take on jobs that most shops won't halt production for. Note that I do not do productions runs (one offs or low part count only).
If jobs will wear out tools (like tapping hundreds of holes), the cost of the consumable may be partially or fully included in the total. The hourly rate is $40 per hour for personal or small business with less than 10 employees. For business/larger organizations with more than 10 employees the rate is $60 per hour . I do not have reamers since these are specialty sizes and if required the cost may be partially or fully included in the total.
No woodworking or machine repair (engine rebuilds, carburetor cleaning etc.) is offered. Most milling and turning is done without lubricants to avoid coating the shop and my lungs. If you need a particular roughness average (RA) finish this is not something I can measure in house or guarantee. Note that many mild steels are difficult to get a nice finish on. More complicated parts with setup, custom mounts, and significant tooling changes generally require more time. I do not have much stock in hand. If you need something quick, I can order stock through McMaster Carr and their prices including shipping are often quite reasonable. Otherwise, if you have the stock and would like to hand it off, that works just as well.
Please note:
1. I do not make parts for weapons of any kind, no exceptions.
2. Please reach out using the website listed above. I only respond to properly worded emails with your contact info. Please describe what you're looking to have fabricated and leave your contact name and phone number. I'll respond as soon as possible with a business email or call directly and please upload files if needed. A sketch, technical drawing, or CAD file will do.
3. I can also ship parts to you at low cost if you're not local to the Space Coast in Florida.
By August 2026 I plan on offering MIG/TIG welding services (non structural, non pressurized vessel) and wire EDM broken tap removal. All parts fabricated are purchased as is and no safety or structural uses are assumed. The company/owner cannot be held liable for any injury or property damaged caused by use of the parts. You may be required to sign off on the(s) part acknowledging this.
