Artist Block is one of the last studios in rapidly-gentrifying Boston. It is located in Roxbury in an industrial building. We are looking for artists who are committed to their craft to join our community.

The units are unique. The building has industrial character (it was a dye factory). Our members are range from a DJ, photographer, documentarian / gilder, stained glass artist, drummer, construction, events planning, cycling/collage, fibers/fashion, painter, music recording group, writer.

First and Last required. The following units are available, and will go fast. But we are looking for dependable, high quality people, who really intend to use the space for creativity. We also have a running committee to govern the place, which you would have to participate in. We are also very DIY, and it is up to us as a community to keep the space going, so being community-minded and hands-on is imperative.

The available studios are as follows:

(no longer available) 1. Small 12x15" Photography / Artist Work Studio with shared bathroom, no window, access to gallery, 170 sqft. 24 hour access $500.

(no longer available) 2. Large Creative Work studio with second story loft, one window, shared bathroom, 1 south facing window, access to gallery $1180, 15ft ceilings 700ft sq, 24 hour access.

(No longer available) 3. Large Creative studio with large second story loft, with north facing floor to ceiling windows views of downtown and backbay; comes with ensuite bathroom and kitchen, 15ft ceilings. $1,775, access to shared gallery, 24 hour access, ~1000ftsq+, area that can be walled off as a separate room/workshop.

(Available) 4. Large creative studio with extensive second story loft $1680, 1 west facing window, 15ft ceilings, en suite bathroom, kitchen space, access to shared gallery, 24 hour access, ~900ftsq+.
