This edition of Shakespeare's sonnets set by hand and printed on specially made and water-marked Barcham Green hand-made paper at Les Presses de L'Hotel de Sagonne in Paris for The Hand and Flower Press was finished on Aug: 10th 1950. The text of the sonnets is taken from the fac-simile of "The Unrivalled Original in the Library of Bridgewater House by permission of the right Hon. The Earl of Ellesmere". The introduction is set in 12 point Caslon and the sonnets in 12 point Tallone type newly engraved by Charles Malin to the design of Alberto Tallone and used for the first time. The compositor was Andre Carriot and the Machinist Roger Lautrey. 1240 copies have been printed and numbered on the Press; One thousand one hundred and sixty are for sale and numbered 1-1160. The rest are numbered from I-LXXX.
