Backstamp: The coronet was probably added above the Doulton Burslem symbol c. 1886 to mark the appointment of Henry Doulton as 'Potter to H.R.H. The Prince of Wales' (later King Edward VI). The word "ENGLAND" was added underneath after 1891, dating this piece to 1886-1891. Impression stamp on bottom of underliner reads “DOULTON’S.” A second impression stamp appears to read “C 87.”
