Canadian artist Steve Walker was best known for his haunting and poignant acrylic portraits of beautiful men (solo and in pairs), often done in mute shades.

He chose to paint gay men, depicting the struggles and joys the Gay community lived through in his lifetime. But he believed his subjects were universal, touching on themes of love, hate, pain, beauty, joy, loneliness, attraction, hope, despair, life, and death.

Steve Walker passed away on January 4 2012, at his home in Costa Rica. His work has been exhibited in galleries in Montreal, Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale, Key West, and Province town
