Do you need proposals to impress new clients? Marketing materials, letters, or a business plan to help your business grow? Are your web pages too wordy, boring, or uninformative?
I focus on writing and editing for one kind of client: small businesses. If you don’t have the expertise—or the staff, or the time, or the budget—to produce high-quality written or on-line material, drop me a line.
Here’s what clients have said about the work I deliver:
— “When my attorney reviewed the waiver form you created, he was convinced another lawyer had written it. He told me it was the best document of its kind he’d ever seen. Wow!”
— “After coming to expect problems with content writers who deliver late and make excuses, it was great to get back high-quality work ahead of schedule. I’ll be recommending you.”
— “Not all editors get this quickly. It’s refreshing to see you hit it out of the park the first time! Thank you!”
— “Thank you for doing a stellar job. Learning all the twists and turns of the template, and identifying the right places to put the content isn't easy. With this first effort, you made it look like it was. Really, really well done.”
I don’t just fix your spelling and punctuation: I learn your industry to become an insightful part of your team.
I can improve (or write from scratch) your business documents: forms, proposals, correspondence, business plans, grants, and many other types. I can develop your web site content. I can produce marketing material or blog posts tailored to your specific industry and audience. I can work with you once, help out now and then, or set up a schedule to meet a regular need.
You get comfort and confidence: I won’t take on your job unless I can do it well and complete it in the time frame you require. I review each job and provide a quote (always competitive) in advance. For many jobs, I use fixed-rate package pricing or offer a flat per-project rate.
I charge $35-$55 per hour (or per page), depending on the type of work and the specific requirements. For large jobs, I offer a sample free of charge for you to decide if you like my work and want to continue. You have nothing to lose.
I have worked professionally as a writer and editor for more than 25 years. As “The Better Editor of New England,” I’ve been serving clients independently since 2011. My background includes a master’s degree in writing, and I’ve taught writing at the college level. I’m a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association.
