Vintage Stanley planes, #4, #4.5, #7, and # 190. Very clean and functional, have been in my personal collection for a lifetime.
#4 Smooth plane, a real workhorse. Two to chose from. One has the original varnish on knob and tote, the other one has a hand rubbed finish. Tight mouths. Lever cap has the kidney hole, with Stanley embossing. Body is cast with "Bailey" behind the knob. Both have been lovingly used and well cared for. Your choice at $50 each.
#4 1/2 Smooth plane, big brother of the #4 -wider and heavier. Plenty of mass, well suited for tougher woods. Tight mouth. "Bailey" mark on the toe, and 3x patent dates behind the frog. Adjustable frog. Rosewood tote and handle with original finish and varnish, chips and all. A somewhat scarce item. $100.
#5 Jack plane. Body with 99% of the japanning. "Bailey" mark on the toe. Adjustable frog. Can be used as a mini-jointer on smaller jobs. $60.
#7 Jointer plane, older style, with low knob. Rosewood handle, given a hand rubbed finish. Very clean sole for its age. Impressive handtool weighing in at ~8lbs. A must for serious woodworking. $120.
#190 Rabett plane, handly little tool. $50.
Planes are complete with smooth working parts and plenty of life left on the iron (cutter), and in much better shape than what's out there. Must be seen to be appreciated.
If you're recently geeting into old tools, or wish to expland your collection, any one of these specimens would make a great addition. Also a wonderful holiday gift to yourself.
