It has warm brown wood-stained siding with aged rustic brown shingled roofs. White trim around the windows, door and gable ends beautifully contrast with the bright red of the Dutch Door and window shutters.
The base is solid with an opening cut in the center suggesting it was always intended to be electrified.
I don’t know the original proposed use for this miniature structure, other than for a model train layout. And although it resembles one, it definitely was not intended for use as a bird house because it is much too delicate and wouldn’t survive a single rain or windstorm.
The only marking I find is ’88 which I assume indicates the year it was created– 1988. The artist is unknown.
This seller electrified it and featured it on his O / O27 model train display using it as the Office/Headquarters in the ZOO section of his layout.
This unique four-gabled structure would be a wonderful addition to a model train layout, a miniature collection, a doll house setting or a diorama display.
