Chemical Technician, 2nd Shift

About the Company
Nano-C is a late-stage start-up working to commercialize carbon chemical technologies. We are seeking a 2nd Shift Chemical Technician responsible for using chemicals, related products and equipment, working with chemists and chemical engineers. Primary focus is on the production of a variety of fullerene products at the developmental and pilot scales. The hours for this 2nd shift position are from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Performs chemical production in laboratory, pilot scale and manufacturing settings in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. This could involve:
Assembly and operation of equipment to manufacture products while monitoring quality
Performance of standard chemical and physical tests of products and in-process materials and recording of test data manually and using a computer
Work with Chemists and Engineers to make informed decisions about processes and products during production procedures
Set up of equipment and instrumentation required for production, tests, research, or process control when directed
Preparation of chemical solutions for use in production or testing processes
Preparation and packaging of product for shipment to customers
Maintenance of work area and process equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
Qualifications and Skills
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree and/or 2 – 4 years’ equivalent experience in chemical production settings
Familiarity with process safety in the chemical industry
Strong interpersonal skills in a very team-oriented environment
Flexibility and desire to learn new skills in the creative environment of a developing technology company
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
