JBL 4208 Studio Monitors (Pair)
Pair of passive (i.e. needs an amplifier) studio monitors that we had in a professional recording studio back in the early ’90’s.
We added fuses to the woofer (3A) and tweeter (1A) to protect them from overzealous engineers.
Still in decent condition, woofer surrounds have not disintegrated, as happens with a lot of speakers over time.
These have not been used in many years since we closed the studio in 1996.
I no longer have an amp, so if you want to test these you’ll need to bring your own.
The JBL 4208 is an 8-inch, 2-way studio monitor with an 1-inch titanium dome tweeter and an 8-ohm nominal impedance. It features a 75W continuous power handling (pink noise), a frequency response of 60Hz - 20kHz (±2dB), and a 2.6 kHz crossover frequency. The magnetically shielded monitors, designed for near-field listening, have a matte gray finish and are designed for consistent imaging and low phase distortion.
