condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Gibson
model name / number: GA-6
For your consideration is a clean 1957 Gibson GA-6 amp (12W), the company's version of a Fender tweed deluxe (5D3/5E3). Same classic, warm sound but at a quarter of the price. It has everything original that you would want with everything updated that you want as well (grounded plug, new caps). This rare example is a transitional model and the most sought after as it retains the quality of the earlier two-tone amps with 1x12" speaker but the updated circuitry of the later 50s Lancer. So this one is designed for 5Y3, 2 6V6, and 2 12AX7 tubes.

An estate sale find, the original owner quietly used this amp for decades with an archtop. I purchased it from a friend who did the cap replacement effectively along with the upgraded ground plug. The tubes are superb. RCA 5Y3 and RCA 6V6 tubes, I believe original and reading strong (3300 on both 6V6). There is a 12ay7 in the V1 as recommended for tweeds (January 1954 GE reading 1800/1800) and 12ax7 in the V2 (Mullard/IEC 2000/1900).

Original Jensen P12R speaker just like a tweed deluxe. Any questions, please ask. Amp can also be picked up in New Haven Region. Thanks for looking.
