Have you just picked up a guitar for the first time?
Or are you looking for a different point of view - or where to go next on your musical journey?
I am offering personally tailored guitar instruction that will develop your skills, your habits, and your EAR so that you can become self-sufficient and comfortable with your instrument. As a guitarist of 30 years and a graduate of the New England Institute of Art, I will build a lesson plan to guide your unique development as a guitarist.
Part of this plan is enhancing your enthusiasm for playing guitar with each lesson. For example, if practicing scales becomes a lifeless chore, I will develop scale exercises - based on your musical interests - that will reignite that spark of creativity...you know, the one that made you pick up the guitar in the first place.
Our time together will be very much based on what you want to get out of your lessons. These may include:
-How to build good technique, keep in tune, know the sound of your instrument
-The chords, scales, and music theory that you absolutely need to know (or want to know!)
-How to best build the rhythmic and technical "core" of your personal playing style
-The tools to develop your own style of playing (What do you want to play? How do you want it to sound? Traditional-Versatile-Modern-Unique
Or...we can start with a tried-and-true method that everyone likes...
-Learning that song, riff, solo, or entire album that you love to listen to every day!
