This couch is only a couple of years old, and the pull-out feature has never been used; the mattress is still in the original plastic bag, even! There is a little cat-scratch damage on the front of the arms (the few loose threads have actually been cleaned up since these pictures were taken)... we bought protective covers but not quite soon enough. If not for this, I would have marked it as "Excellent", because otherwise, it's pretty perfect! Also, while it will be in our garage for pickup, it has always been in our living room until a few days ago (as our new couch was delivered), so it's very clean.
