Harman once sold this stove as a multi fuel stove but with the EPA restrictions placed on manufacturers, Harman marketed the stove as a coal burning only, as there are no EPA restrictions for burning with coal.
Because this type of stove was designed to heat a large area and for cooking on in a power outage, there is significant pitting on the top surface, I have known some owners to put soapstone on the stove top for retaining heat and more aesthetically pleasing.
