A classic speaker upgraded. I kept the best and improved the rest. Buyers are often skeptical of modifications. I have been restoring, upgrading and custom building speakers for over 20 years. The crossover was designed specifically for this modification, and the performance of the speakers was tested using Smith & Larsen's woofer tester pro. Performance plots are available on request. The original walnut veneer cases in very good condition (see photos); new improved grills. People liked the KLH 6 sound largely because its 10" woofer made deep lows real but not flabby. The original two-way KLH 6 models were week in the mid and high range. I improved those by replacing the original mid-tweeter with a 2" soft dome midrange and 1" tweeter. The 3-way crossover is entirely new (diagram attached). You will notice in the pictures that sound absorbing felt was added around the mid and tweeter to dampen case diffraction and reflections. The stands pictured are included if you need them, but my testing suggests that stands 12-14" tall will provide the best sound in most listening positions. These speakers are set up and ready for you to test. I am selling them because I have other speaker projects that I would like to build.
