Seeking a cost effective Word Document Specialist responsible for converting legacy quality documents and procedures into a newly established contemporary Word template.
The role requires proficiency in Microsoft Word template architecture, style-based formatting, structured numbering, and document consistency. The objective is to standardize and modernize existing QMS documents while preserving technical content integrity with some implemented new content and revisions.
This is a remote, project-based assignment with flexible scheduling.
Primary Responsibilities
Convert legacy SOPs, policies, forms, and procedures into a new standardized Word template
Apply style-based formatting (Heading levels, Normal, table styles, captions, etc.).
Correct inconsistent fonts, spacing, numbering, and margins.
Rebuild documents using structured styles rather than manual formatting.
Ensure proper use of multi-level numbering linked to heading styles.
Document Structure & Quality
Update headers, footers, and revision blocks per new template requirements.
Align tables to defined table styles.
Reformat signature blocks, training acknowledgements, and controlled copy statements.
Ensure readability, visual consistency, and professional presentation.
Provide feedback on template performance and improvement opportunities.

Required Experience
Detail-oriented and systematic
3+ years advanced Microsoft Word document formatting experience.
Demonstrated experience working with complex templates and style-based formatting.
Experience supporting QMS or technical documentation strongly preferred
Strong understanding of document hierarchy
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Regulatory and QMS Awareness
Experience in GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 17025, or regulated environments preferred but not mandatory.

Duration: 1–3 months
Part-time 1099 contract rate $20-$30/hr. Pending demonstrated experience, template mastery and QMS familiarity and efficiency.
