This exquisite, meticulously detailed porcelain Arhat or (Luohan 羅漢 in Chinese) appears to be handcrafted in the Qing Dynasty 1644–1911), although the marking in the lower back says made in the Xuan De 宣德 era (1426-1435) of the Ming Dynasty.
Arhat, in Buddhism, is a perfected person, one who has gained insight into the true nature of existence and has achieved nirvana (spiritual enlightenment).
Measurements: 17" x 9" x 6". Overall condition is excellent for an antique.
