This group of 4 original arts employs a combination of pastel, charcoal/graphite sketching, and possibly watercolor techniques. No artist signature unfortunately, but based on the analysis of the art technics, style and the mattings, they were likely made by the same artist.
The scenes are likely Cape Cod harbor and boat scenes, as suggested by the script on the bottom right art which says “ Falmouth Feb 21, 1923”, which also suggests this group of arts were likely made about 100 years ago. As a background, Falmouth and the Cape Cod area were active artistic hubs in the 1920s, attracting both regional and visiting artists.
Measurements: 18” x 22” (frame); 9.5” x 13” (art). New dark blue wooden frame, with original mattings.
