This water ink painting was made by Xu Shiping (徐世平 1952 - 2024) in 1984 in New York, dedicated to Sir William Geoffrey Ehrman (欧威廉), a retired British diplomat and well known China hand who was actively involved in the Sino-British negotiation of the Hong Kong sovereignty transfer in the 1980s.

Xu is a well known artist and top notch art collector. His water ink paintings are known for blending western skills and perspectives in traditional Chinese painting executions, as demonstrated in this piece.

Professionally matted and framed and under glass protection. Great overall condition.

Measurements: 33" x 18".
