Published in mid 19th century, these two original Japanese woodblock prints depict Meiji period Kabuki actors in Edo (Tokyo) by Utagawa Kunisada. Also known as Toyokuni III, Kunisada (歌川 国貞 1786-1864) was one of the most popular and prolific ukiyo-e print designers of his time. Kunisada's work focused heavily on Kabuki and actor prints, which account for about 60% of his designs.
