Small growing marketing firm on Boston waterfront seeks a content/developmental editor to work with bona fide subject-matter experts in collaborative writing partnerships for the creation of marketing copy, newsletters, articles for publication, and long-form manuscript. The editor will work closely with the client to incorporate his or her insights and feedback and must be willing to develop a deep knowledge base in areas you may not have worked in before. This position frequently requires generating content from scratch and an understanding of the “big picture” (not simply grammar and basic copyediting).

The successful candidate must be a very fast learner and will need a conversational knowledge of business concepts and a fundamental knowledge publishing and/or professional services marketing. You must be strategic, proactive, and willing to be fully accountable for your work. You will be expected to do whatever it takes to meet deadlines and produce a product that meets the expectations of the client. You will not get an editorial credit for your work, nor will you retain any intellectual property interest in any material you produce.

This position requires quick thinking on your feet, relentless curiosity, a desire to learn new things, an independent work ethic, and self-confidence when speaking on the phone. You also need to be able to hold your own ground in a conversation with a very successful, very smart client who may disagree with your approach. A knowledge of publishing and editorial standards and proofreading is a huge plus. People who have excelled in this role in the past have been highly strategic in their analysis but with impeccable attention to detail.

This position is budgeted as an entry-level opening.

Many freelance writers needed for ongoing part-time work ($6.50 to $9.25 per short article)

Andovar is recruiting many freelance writers to work part time 15-25 hours per week in quickly writing a wide variety of articles (250-400 words) for travel websites.

Typical articles include:
-	Overviews of cities
-	Weather/Airports in cities
-	Hotel reviews
-	Travel blogs
-	Guide to sports/food in cities

The fee per article depends on the number of words assigned and the ease of writing such articles. Writers will be able to repurpose and reference other online travel guides, but without lifting whole sentences verbatim.

Each writer will be supervised by an editor and be provided with a style guide. Depending on the size/nature of the article, the work should be completed in 45-60 minutes per article, with writers being able to work faster as they gain experience in each format.

It is not necessary to have visited the destinations, but writers' personal background will be matched to article destinations/content where possible.

Articles are assigned weekly and payment is made monthly. Writers who meet quality standards and who can adjust to the editor's standards will be prioritized for work in the following week. The project will expand every week, from hundreds to thousands of articles, so new writers will be added constantly.

Qualifications
-	Native English speaker
-	Daily access to email
-	Above average writing skills
-	Ability to write quickly on a wide range of subjects
-	Ability to create new content by researching and summarizing other travel websites

ALL WORK WILL BE THOROUGHLY CHECKED FOR PLAGIARIASM AND ANDOVAR WILL NOT PAY FOR COTENT SIMPLY COPIED FROM OTHER SITES WITH VERY MINOR EDITS

Interested applicants should send their resumes to seowriter@andovar.com. You will be asked to take a short test by writing a single opening paragraph about a subject.
I am looking for a free-lance editor who is knowledgeable about art history, particularly painting and ceramics. I would prefer someone with experience in newspaper journalism.
I need help preparing my 200 page book for publication. It will be self-published, and is about a famous tile company that existed in Chelsea, Massachusetts during the Gilded Age. It is largely a book of pictures, and the text supports the display of the photos.
Necessarily this is a short term job, but it should be a lot of fun.
This is not your average internship. You will be working with The GENESIS Network (Global Empowerment Networking for Enlightened Social Improvement and Sustainability), an emerging nonprofit global human rights networking organization that capitalizes on novel innovations in information and communication technologies to leverage the efficiency and effectiveness of development projects worldwide. We are currently working with sustainable development projects in Burma and Thailand that support impoverished and orphaned children through the provision of education and protection from human trafficking and child prostitution. For more information about the organization and current projects, take a look at www.GNetwork.org.

We are currently all volunteer-based. The returns are in the form of providing futures to at-risk children that are currently without any opportunity. We are looking for those that have a background in writing (specifically grant writing) and outreach/fundraising – and who really want to make a difference. Write one good grant and you may fund one or two schools, providing education to hundreds of children – put that on your resume.

You will have the added benefit of working from home.

“Make a Difference” Blog Contest

The “Make a Difference” blogging contest has been created to promote awareness of the dangers of skin cancer in young adults. Blogs have positioned themselves as a powerful media to reach the public, including the young adults who may not read a newspaper or watch the news. This contest is in correlation with a study conducted by Dermanetwork.org about public support banning the use of tanning beds by young adults. Our hope is to spread education through the web in a way that will touch the lives of children, who are possibly the most endangered by melanoma.

Bloggers are to create a blog entry that is educational and has a large impact on the population of readers. Blogs will be evaluated based on a specified point scale and judged on both educational content and impact on the readers. A panel will judge all entries and decide the winner.

The blog entry can be an addition to a current blog, or a brand new blog can be created specifically for this contest.

The winner will get a choice between a donation of $500 dollars to the Melanoma Research Foundation in their name or a $500 Visa Gift Card.

If interested in applying, please send an email to BlogHealthNews@yahoo.com and we will send the specific contest rules to you.
Good luck!

Boston Sports Blog Seeks Writers (Your Home)

If you are a college student or an aspiring journalist, you may be looking for valuable resume-building experience. If you like Boston sports, we have the answer for you.

We're one of the fastest growing and most-widely read Boston sports blogs and we're looking for talented writers to join our team. You'll enjoy the benefits of an experienced editorial staff and join a blog where you can make a significant impact, have relatively free editorial reign, and enjoy all the benefits that come along with an up-and-coming venture.

EXPECTATIONS
- You are expected to write at least one article per week.
- You can write in any number of sections: Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, Bruins, College, Fantasy Sports, and Sports Entertainment.
- Communication is key: let us know what you'd like to write about, and talk with other team members about the best way to approach a topic.
- You can write columns, game recaps, humor pieces, and literally anything you can think of. We are an extremely open group.

REQUIREMENTS
- You should be at least attending college, if not already graduated. We have a few college students on staff and a few journalists in the work force.

BENEFITS
- Invaluable experience. Your work is in the spotlight of the critical Boston sports fan (along with many other sports fanatics).
- Enjoy the benefits of a start-up atmosphere. You'll be part of a blog that's positioned to go big places and do great things.
- Work from home. We don't have an office (yet!), so you are expected to submit all articles online and work from home.
- If you're a journalism student, then you know it's important to have as many clips as possible. This opportunity is a perfect way to build up your portfolio of work.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
- You don't need to be a Red Sox fan. We have a Yankees fan on board and cherish opinions from different perspectives.
- You don't need to be a journalism student/major. Several of our writers come from other fields such as Engineering. If you are a competent writer and knowledgeable about Boston sports, then you're in the right spot.
- This position is unpaid, but opportunity exists for future earnings if you consistently demonstrate your value to the team.

TO APPLY
All interested applicants should send a brief introduction, along with a resume and one writing sample (or an example article) to the email address above. If we think you are strong match for our needs, we will contact you.
