The Winthrop Playmakers are proud to announce auditions for their production of Steve Martin's �Picasso at the Lapin Agile� directed by Nick Raponi.

This clever comedy places a young Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso in a Parisian caf� in 1904, just before the scientist writes �The Theory of Relativity� and the celebrated painter set the art world afire with �Les Demoiselles d'Avignon�. In his first comedy for the stage, Martin, the popular actor, comedian and screenwriter plays with fact, fame and fortune as these two geniuses speculate on the coming century's achievements and other topics like, sex, art, and science. The subject matter is daring, providing lots of laughs and moments of enlightenment.

Auditions will take place on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 and Thursday, February 25, 2010 starting at 7:00 pm by appointment only. Callbacks will be Sunday, February 28, 2010 starting at 2:00 pm.

Gaston - An older man who frequents the Lapin Agile Bar. Has some signs of an alcoholic. He also has a bladder issue. We will consider a French accent for this role.

Germaine - waitress and Freddy's girlfriend. Appears to be mid 30�s to 40�s

Albert Einstein - Age twenty three at this time and randomly walks into the Lapin Agile in hopes that his girlfriend will arrive. At times seems quite hyper.

Suzanne - a 19 year old woman who waits for Picasso at the bar. Suzanne and Picasso have �met� before. This actress will most likely double as female admirer.

Sagot -Picasso's art dealer. Appears to be mid 30�s or older

Picasso - age twenty-five, a pompous, arrogant painter who thinks he is more famous than he is.

Schmendiman - a young man who compares his greatness to that of Picasso and Einstein. He appears to be young to mid 20�s. Character actor

Countess - the girlfriend of Einstein. She appears to be mid 20�s to 30�s. Cameo role

Female Admirer - a girl who is in search of Schmendiman, rather than Picasso.

Visitor - acts as a premonition, tells Picasso of the future and of the great things he will do. This character resembles a young Elvis Presley.

My name is Charlie Peters and I'm the host of Talked Up, an interview/talk show broadcast on CyberStationUSA, the world's most visited online radio station. The show centers around interviews with people of interest in Hollywood and Boston.

What I'm looking for is the potential to add a co-host to the show. Duties would include having a strong voice, opinions and the ability to improv. We are mostly unscripted, so the co-host would need to have some sort of chops to handle an entertaining, funny interview without any problems. The show is light-hearted and usually stays away from "heavy" issues, so it's not a place just to stump for your own agenda. We'll talk topical things, giving our own spin.

I'm seeking a group of smart actors who are interested in getting together fairly regularly to read plays aloud - old plays, new plays, anything of dramatic merit. On my mind at the moment are anything by Sarah Ruhl, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, or something by Jose Rivera.

I'm seeking collaborators who want to work together to develop our talent and skills. I am imagining a project or projects that may or may not be performance-based, but are simple explorations of the creative process through scenework, storytelling, or movement to music. I am a young and talented director working in a very un-theatre job and seeking a creative outlet with similar folks. I just want to create a space to play, to explore, and to grow with 3-4 actors at a time in intimate, open, and honest work.

I'd like to be clear that this would not be a good fit for someone who "used to do theatre." You don't have to be a professional, but I'm seeking people are who are passionate and committed to their art and who can engage in artistic partnership. In other words, I'm not interested in teaching. Let's all grow together.

Female fit model needed for collection. Pay is $25.00/hr and each session run from 1-3 hours depending on what I'm fitting. Model will be able to do home work, read etc in between fittings. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have done fittings before or know exactly what a fitting is. If you don't, please watch one for the many fashion design reality shows on TV before hand. We are looking for film actors to portray Tom and Summer from the film (500) Days of Summer. We are remaking one scene from the film for a class project at Tufts University. This is unpaid, but will look good on resume/portfolio. Willing to supply DVD to those chosen, as well as food.
