DB Developer/Release Engineer

Responsibilities

• Participate in DB design, development and support with Dev and QA teams on tasks such as schema maintenance, writing stored procedures, unloading/loading data etc.
• Develop and support shell scripts for database activities such as data loading and unloading, as well as, Modiv product installations and upgrades.
• Maintain current reports and write new reports using Crystal Reports XI.
• Committed to quality and creating readable, reliable and maintainable code.
• Troubleshooting complex production issues when escalated to engineering.
• Ability to deliver within scheduled timelines.


Required Skills/Experience

• Working knowledge of the full software development lifecycle.
• Ability to perform in a fast paced start up environment.
• At least 5 years of experience including DBA work in RDBMS technology preferably DB2 on Linux.
• Working knowledge of CVS including tagging, branching and doing a release.
• Expert knowledge of UNIX, including ability to write and debug midlevel to advanced bash shell scripts on Linux systems.
• Proficient in DB2, Oracle, Linux, Shell Scripting (bash), CVS and Crystal Reports XI.
• Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
