Hi! I'm Patrick! I loved my elderly owner very much. She spoiled me rotten...we were constant companions. To my dismay she passed away recently and I am devastated. Standish Humane Society adoption/re-homing fees are only $100 for mixed breed cats. Purebred and declaw adoption fees are higher. All cats have been examined by a Veterinarian; tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immune Deficiency Virus (FIV) and are negative for both; vaccinated for Distemper, Rabies and Upper-Respiratory Disease; wormed; spayed; they have a microchip so if they do manage to escape thier new forever homes and a caring stranger takes them to a shelter or a vets office, they can be scanned and returned to you! Also, when you pick up your new adoptee they will get their nails clipped and receive an application of a topical flea treatment which kills all fleas within 12 hours (even though they are NOT exhibiting any signs of flea activity - this is just a safeguard!).

and times you sign up for as a Dog Walker. You would also need some dog experience and transportation to get to the shelter.
The person/family who adopts them will need to demonstrate to me articulately that they have:
A comfortable home which is able to fit two dogs.
Income to financially support them.
Time and energy to devote to two lap dogs.
Years long commitment to take care of them - this will be their third home.
Ability to come pick them up to take them to their new home.
The email response must be articulate enough to respond too. I will be "chosey" of who receives these terrific animals.

Also, she is about 20 pounds so she is a little scared of little feet but has plenty of exposure to and is generally great around people and animals, including cats!
The only thing is that exercise is most important, after basic care. While a yard is not absolutely necessary, an open space like a field or trails is-she is already known at Bare Cove!

I really would like her to go with someone who will hold her often, as she LOVES
to be held. She would make an awesome awesome pet for a Young Boy who likes animals

She has never bitten, and is not fed in her Tank. She has always been fed seperately. She has
also lived with another Snake, who was much much larger than her, for a long period of time.
They bonded and would even ball up together to sleep. The older snake passed away from a
Sick Petco Rat unfortunately and shes been alone since.

Many kitties who have been declawed will not use litter boxes. It may be that the dirt hurts their paws (which are now more sensitive), so be sure to try lots of different litter types until you find one your kitty likes. You might even try shredded newspaper.
Also, some declawed cats have psychological issues - because they have lost their means of defense and balance - and developing inappropriate bathroom habits seems to be a common way for them to show us they are emotionally and physically uncomfortable.
Or perhaps it is their way of putting on a brave face with other cats: "I may not have claws, but this is MY TERRITORY."
Roll up any rugs that you can, and keep your clothes and newspapers off the floor, so your kitty has fewer "wrong" places to use. Remember that once an area is soiled, those lovely aromas beg the kitty to return to the scene of the crime.
Also be sure to have one box for each cat in your household - even if that means you need three or four boxes! We all like our privacy.
Miscellaneous ideas: You might try a different type of litter box - covered/uncovered - or a different location. Perhaps the box could go into a less-trafficked area. Does your toddler grab kitty while she is attempting to use the box? Does your teenager think it is funny to scare the kitty when she is pooping - or do people yell at the cat when she is pooping because it stinks? Is the box ALWAYS accessible? - not sometimes inaccessible because it is in your bathroom and someone is taking a shower? Your cat may not like the smell of the plastic, if other cats have used the box. Your cat may not like the fact that the dog visits the box for a snack. Your cat may not like that you buy a different brand of litter - with a different feel and smell - depending upon what's on sale.
