Jewish Vocational Service seeks experienced ESOL Instructors to develop and deliver customized ESOL courses designed to raise the level of English fluency as it relates to participant's work and professional development. The ESOL Instructor's charge is to assist in assessing the training needs of employers and to provide the education and training programs that will allow employees to improve the language skills within their current position and to grow within their organization. The ESOL Instructor is part of a larger JVS team, all of whom are supporting the education, training, and employment needs of clients and employers.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Three years teaching experience with adult ESOL required;
• Three years experience teaching adults in a professional/organizational are required;
• BEST Plus, REEP and TABE certification preferred;
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite a must;
• Flexibility to individual learning styles and ability to manage multi-level classrooms to ensure all students have an equal opportunity to learn are required;
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are required;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required;
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural, socio-economic, ethnic and educational backgrounds is required;
• Demonstrated and effective presentation and facilitation skills are required;
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment is required.
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree required. Masters in Education or related field preferred.
SCHEDULE:
• South Shore Hospital - Monday and Friday 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
