So, basically my situation is that I moved to Boston for grad school but I was living in Korea when I got setup with a place to rent here (I'm not Korean, I was teaching at an international school there). It turns out that where I am now isn't at all convenient to work and school, nor is it very pleasant (Dorchester). I'm 28 and male. I am a full-time middle school teacher in Newton and I go to grad school full-time in Boston. I like to live in a clean, quiet apartment/house (my current roommates don't and that gets to me). I'm not into parties, but I do enjoy going out to a pub with some friends or having a drink at home with roommates or a few friends.

Working and going to school doesn't really leave me with much free time. But, when I do have some I'll go biking, reading, play music, or just wandering about.

I'm looking to move at the end of December/beginning of January. I'd prefer if the apartment has laundry on site. I do have a car so parking (on-street is fine) is important. What I'm looking for:
Quiet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not anti-social but not crazily social either. What I mean is that I would like to move into a place where I don't feel like there's pressure to become everybody's best friend and hang out all the time. I do enjoy great conversation and it is part of my life's journey to meet like minds and befriend them (I love that!), but I do like my quiet; I have a lot of homework and am also a writer. I also work nights 4 nights a week so, yes, I'm a vampire. This means I'm really not around that often and when everybody's just leaving for work, I'm getting home, and when everybody's getting home, I'm sleeping. This is not a normal schedule so I don't expect people to tip-toe around, but I also don't want to wake up to audible sex or a live band in the living room.
I don't have a car so I would prefer a place close to the train, not the bus, and when I say close I mean about 10-15 min, not having to take a bus in order to get to the train. I have a laptop so Wi-Fi is great!

The economy sucks and I've been out of work since June. I'm in the process of joining the United States Army as an officer, but I need a place to stay while I wait for the process and then after that await a leave date. I have friends that I can stay with, but none of their places allow dogs. My dog is going to be really sad to be without me for many months anyway, I don't want to desert him early, I'd prefer to stick with him until I have to leave. This may take up to 5 months and I don't have any money that I can afford to pay towards rent. My default option is to take my dog and go camping, but I'm hoping that someone might be willing to provide housing for some assistance. I have the utmost integrity, otherwise I wouldn't be eligible to join the Army as an officer, and I have a college education and a Master's degree in business. Hi! So...I'm having the worst time ever looking for an affordable apt with awesome people around Boston! I really want to move soon (preferably before Dec 1st) but can't seem to find a good match. Maybe you can help! :)

I'm a recent graduate from UMass Dartmouth (yes, the other-other-OTHER-UMass ;D) with a BFA in graphic design. I've been living at home and where I live is roughly 30-45 minutes south of Boston, and when I go on job interviews I always get the "where's that???" and "how long is the commute??" and I feel like it's interfering with me getting a full-time job in Boston somewhat. Plus living at home...no fun! Prior to graduation I lived in New Bedford in an apartment with two other girls for about a year and a half and I miss having my own place. I worked at a summer camp from June-July and have been home since August 1st...intended on leaving September 1st...but you know how things go. ;(

I do work part-time currently in Dedham and looking to apply for full time work. ***** I make enough to afford an apt that is less than $500 (including utiliies), so please keep that in mind when responding. ***** I have enough for a few months rent, deposit, etc saved up, so no worries on that aspect. My old apt we got screwed over by two people on rent before so I have no intention on doing that to someone I move in with. I am also reallyreally good about keeping the heat/electric down, I unplug most of my things when not in use and my old apt didn't even have heat in my room so I have a space heater I only really use if I'm in the room or sleeping. Economical roommate, yeah! haha

I guess my only requirements for an apartment would be parking (I have a car), a decent sized room for a full-size bed/desk/bureau/etc, people in my age group (20-30), people who don't mind beers on the weekend/having people over every now and then/a roommate that converses or hangs out with me every once in awhile (we don't need to be bffs, but i do like to KNOW someone i live with haha) etc, someone who doesn't mind the fact I stay up in my room til 3-5am sometimes (i'm quiet about it though) and...yeah! :)

I am cat friendly (love them!), 420 friendly, LGBTQ friendly, and generally...friendly. Not much bothers me and I'm pretty easy going. :)

Also perks of me being there: I have a lot of furniture if needed, I work at a well-known "hipster-esque" store with cool housewares stuff and I get a sweet discount, I have an Xbox 360 with Netflix streaming on it (and old school games too! i'm a sega nerd :B) and umm...I'm sane and won't mess up your stuff? haha. I moved here from Austin, TX at the beginning of September and found a roommate with a place in East Boston. I thought I�d be working right across the harbor and it seemed like a great location at the time, but I now find myself commuting an hour every day to North Quincy and the once great location has become a liability.

As for me, I�m 26, educated, a non-smoker, and don�t have any pets (though I love dogs and friendly cats). I took the GRE a few months ago and I�m about to start applying to public policy grad programs for next fall.

At the risk of making this sound like a personal ad, here are some random likes:
baseball, good beer, Dave Matthews, omelettes, The Shawshank Redemption, Flannery O�Connor, poker, Leaves of Grass, spicy food, chess, Mark Twain, road trips, Van Morrison, intelligent conversation, and anything on HBO.

As for what I�m looking for:
� I have a vehicle so I�ll need somewhere to park it.
� I�d prefer to be fairly close to the T and a < 1 hour commute to North Quincy is huge.
� I need reliable wi-fi , and cable/laundry is a plus.
� I didn�t bring any furniture with me, so all I have is a rickety desk and an old hand-me down bed� any furniture that I could use would be great.
� Last, I only know a few people in this town, so if you wouldn't mind occasionally having a drink and dispensing advice on how to survive snow, Boston traffic, all these crazy taxes, or anything else a native Texan should be wary of, that's a plus too.

GEOS Language Institute, an English language school in downtown Boston, is looking for caring families or individuals to provide a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for our students. GEOS offers classes all throughout the year, but it is during the summer that we have the most volume. Some of our students stay for just one month, others for nine months, and span a wide range of ages and nationalities. EC Boston is looking for responsible, friendly people interested in hosting student(s) year round

Thank you for your interest in hosting our international student(s). The EC Boston Homestay Program is a valuable supplement to our academic curriculum.
It allows our students, whose average stay with us is 2 - 4 months, to improve their English while gaining an understanding of and appreciation for American culture.
At the same time, you, as host, will have the unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into cultures and customs of the world and to build enduring friendships.

The Students:
1. Juniors (ages 14 � 18)
2. Adults

The Families:
1. You will provide a room, daily interaction, and two meals�breakfast and dinner. In return families receive a stipend of $175-$200 per week.
2. Locations in the following areas: Brighton, Allston, Brookline, Newton, Boston, and Cambridge. Home should be within walking distance (less than 10 minutes) of the T, or otherwise easily accessible to downtown Boston (within 40 minutes commute time).

How to Apply:
1) Email us a brief introduction of yourself, your family, and the reasons you are interested in hosting International students.
2) The Housing Coordinator will send you a packet of information regarding our expectations of you as a host, including the Homestay application.
3) The Housing Coordinator will contact you for an appointment to visit your home.
4) If you are a good fit for our program, we will send you an agreement and contact you regarding your first student placement.

I guess I should start by saying a little about me - my name is Julia and I'm a 26 year old female, I work in the Financial District at a 9-5 as an Administrative Assistant. I'm respectful and friendly and enjoy having roommates I can hang out with but do like my down time to get creative sometimes, too. I'm currently living in Porter Square but I'm looking to move sometime in December. I'm pretty laid back but I like to go out and have drinks with friends and occasionally go dancing (soul night at zuzu is my favorite!). In my free time I take photos, make things & sell them at craft fairs, sew, spend time with my sweet-as-pie boyfriend and watch lots and lots of movies. I also love thrifting and baking and would really like to move into a living situation that feels more like a home than just a crash pad.

I'm also very into interior design so I'd love to find a place where I could express myself in the apartment, so it doesn't feel like I'm just moving into someone else's place (I'm not talking about redecorating the whole space, just adding my personal touches).

A bit about my puppy soul mate - she's a 10lb, hypo-allergenic maltese named Daisy. Maltese have hair, not fur, so allergies and shedding won't be a problem. She's also fully housetrained, up to date with her shots, spayed, and loveable as anything. She is just sweet as pie and also happens to sleep about 20 hours a day. She gets on well with other pups but is a bit afraid of cats because she had a traumatic experience with being attacked by my old roommates' cat numerous times without having provoked her at all. If your cat is sweet too, though, and gets along well with small, harmless little pups, I'd be happy to bring Daisy into a situation like that!

I need somewhat of a big room, preferably where I can paint the walls. I do a lot of crafting, like I said, so I need some space for my queen sized bed as well as my sewing machine and the rest of my things. I put $600 as a general price range but feel free to respond if you think you have something that would work well.

I'm open to taking over a lease or doing a month-to-month living situation but really don't want to move again anytime soon - I am looking to find a comfortable situation that I want to stay in for a while.

My name is Jessie (I figure we might as well get firmiliar). I am a pre-med student transfering to Northeastern in January (yay!) from Austin, Texas. I am, as my title suggests, a very laid back person. Here in Austin I spend all of my time studying and occassionally spending an evening in my favorite dive bar. I like cheesy medical shows. I have a Maltese dog named George and a fat orange tabby cat named Rufus. I drink socially and no longer smoke (yay again!), but really don't give a crap if you do either, I just know that makes a difference sometimes. I am considerate and always pay rent on time. In summary? I'm a pretty great roommate.

Ok, I'm moving to Boston for school in January. I'm entering culinary school, which is a 15 month program, so I'm looking for somewhere I can sign a 15 month lease on. I would prefer to find a furnished room so I don't have to bring furniture with me across country when I move there.

I'm a 29 y/o male, living in Dallas Texas currently, but have been all over the country. I am quiet, clean, keep to myself and respectful. I do have two cats, so I need somewhere that I can have them. Being that I will be attending culinary school, you can expect me to cook meals if you ever want them. My time will really be spent between school and work, so you can expect me to really keep to myself and be out of your hair.

My classes start the first week of January and I am in the process of securing all my financial aid this week.
