found him/her on ice in creek. it is a robbin. and can fly(sort of). ware can I take it? what do I do in the mean time?
THE PLUSES: She's a very calm, extremely beautiful and affectionate light cream-orange tabby with such a harsh, pathetic background you'll glow all over every time you look at her and think of how you are helping her be happy! She's such an angel with a three-hankie weepie of a story. The vet she was taken to upon her rescue conjectures that she was thrown out of a window and got her inflamed gums then from a mouth infection from that. The horrible shape she was in was extremely touching, and every time you think of the horrible misery she's been through, you will feel ontop of the world for giving her a safe haven and a warm lap and bed to share!
Her rescuer relates: "When she lies on your lap you can feel she has been through the worst of the worst. We are looking for a person who wants to make right what one very very cruel person did to her. The neglect was just so severe. You just want to help her even if she is anxious sometimes, because you just know she has seen the worst of people already. We are looking for someone who really wants to help make a difference in her life. I cried when I found her (something I had never done before); so did the vet when I brought her in. There is something so helpless about her, you know she has faced too many horrible challenges. She has recovered greatly already, but she just deserves a warm place to call her home more than anybody else I know of."
THE DRAWBACKS: We need to test her again the week of the Dec. 21st, and until that time we think she may be FeLV-positive - you can cure this, but if you live with other cats, you probably wouldn't want to adopt her, unless they are FeLV-positive as well. We'll know more after retesting. She's a picky eater and will only eat certain brands and won't eat dry, so if you need to feed dry, she's not the kitty for you. (Her preference is actualy for some pretty cheap, low-quality brands, but if that makes you uncomfortable, I would definitely try something "junky" but higher-quality like Weruva brand - never met a kitty yet who didn't flip for their "Meow Luau" flavor!) And, lastly, she can be hesitant (no wonder, with her bizarre tale/tail of deprivation and neglect) and she would not make a good "Christmas surprise" for someone. She's a huge snuggler but you'll need patience at first while she gets to know you. She is someone who will first need to learn to trust you; it is once she trusts you that she opens up to you in affection, sweetness, companionability, and mutual intimacy and bonding. If you are not overjoyed, we can take her back, but please be prepared to give her a chance. I can make some suggestions of stuff you can try to get her to feel more relaxed and at ease all the more quickly.
The rescuer who found her was feeding cats in an outdoor colony one day when she heard someone calling to her from under a car. At first Tanja the rescuer could only see a head - oh, a grey kitten! The little kitten came out - very very dirty and pitifully grateful for food - all over Tanja in gratitude for just the sound and smell of an opening can. But Tanja started to think maybe this kitten WASN'T grey. She was covered all over in mud and soil, around her mouth too. We think that maybe she got that way frantically trying to find someone to eat in the dirt, like a worm. After many baths, layers upon layers of filth came off the little kitty and Tanja found she was really a beautiful light orange tabby! Mew! She had a bad cold, of course, but with food and care she has been completely cured of that. But we still think she may have FeLV and her gums are still inflamed, so you will want to choose to feed her canned or semi-moist foods until this painful condition, perhaps derived from being thrown from a window, is resolved.
That's the story of this sweet kitty, whom Tanja is calling Cinderella because of all the soot and dirt her loveliness was buried so miserably under when she was found. The pet will have daily ,a warm home, clean bedding, fresh water, family style home, lots of playtime(out of cage), handleing, fresh veggies, food, all of this everyday and the animal will not be in a stressful overfull shelter. All animals surrendered will under go a quaranteen for 3 weeks before the animal goes up for adoption. Unsocialized animals get the attention they need and learn to trust.
***Please do not release your pet out into the wild hopeing someone will find them and give them a home. So many animals are released and die within 24 hours or less or days due to hungry wild animals, being hit by cars, NO proper shelter, No proper food available or water and either freeze or overheat from temperatures. Most small animals do not have sweat glands for the hot temperaturs to cool themselves. Please if you can not afford or just can not keep your pets please find a safe loving home or take them to a shelter, even if most are full at this time you can find some further away, its worth the drive to save a life*** They cannot save themselves!
Surrendering (Not always available, but dont hesitate to ask at anytime) Please if your pet is sick be honest as I am not able to accept them due to the health of the other pets in my home. I would recommed those animals be surrendered to a Vet office, shelter or rescue. thanks
Sorry there will be no money exchanged for the animal or supplies surendered into my care. I also will not pick up the animal(s) or meet unless you are with in 5 miles of me.
A list of animals I do take in are guinea pigs, hedgehogs, hamsters, gerbils, mice, rabbits, smaller birds like finches, parakeets and lovebirds, degus, turtles (aquatic & land), all geckos, frogs, salamenders, bearded dragons (Dragons must come with cage & supplies), If I have not listed your pet needing help please email and I will try to help the best I can.
Please do not contact me if you have rats (due to common health issues which can be spread to othere species), snakes, spiders, dogs or cats needing a new home. I only accept the animals in cages.
I can give you A++ references if needed. If a visit of my home is needed, my home is open to you, all you have to do is ask.
My cages are picked/cleaned everyday or as needed, I am a stay at home mom so the animals get the proper care, handling, proper nutrition and attention they need daily. ((Donations of small animal foods and shavings are always welcome and very much needed))

I love laps...if you sit down near me, yours will not be empty for long! I enjoy conversing with other cats as well as humans, discussing the days events and making plans for tomorrow. I absolutely adore being held...especially when the house is chilly and we can share each other's body heat! One of my favorite paws times is to sleep curled up with other male cats for a snooze. I try to dominate any shy female cats I come into contact with, and that can lead to problems, so I would probably be best in a home with either a girl cat with a strong personality, or no female kitties living there. Hi! I'm Patrick! I loved my elderly owner very much. She spoiled me rotten...we were constant companions. To my dismay she passed away recently and I am devastated. A kind hearted family member tried to take me into her home. However, her dog didn't like me (and to tell the truth, I didn't particularly care for the dog either! ). Your pets always receive love and lots of attention in my care. My visit is customized to include your special care instructions. This may include special feedings, administering medications, bedtime instructions - the routine that you choose for your pets and I to adhere to. Standish Humane Society adoption/re-homing fees are only $100 for mixed breed cats. Purebred and declaw adoption fees are higher. All cats have been examined by a Veterinarian; tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immune Deficiency Virus (FIV) and are negative for both; vaccinated for Distemper, Rabies and Upper-Respiratory Disease; wormed; spayed; they have a microchip so if they do manage to escape thier new forever homes and a caring stranger takes them to a shelter or a vets office, they can be scanned and returned to you! Also, when you pick up your new adoptee they will get their nails clipped and receive an application of a topical flea treatment which kills all fleas within 12 hours (even though they are NOT exhibiting any signs of flea activity - this is just a safeguard!).

Peter was attacked by dogs and mauled when he was about 5 days old. Some nice people took him to David and he nursed Peter back to health. Fish and Wildlife told the people who found him to let him die. They couldn't bear to just leave him there. David has been his best friend for the last 18 months. A nice man named Doug has a 600 acre ranch that is fenced and he lets Peter stay there along with about 120 other deer and moose that have gotten thru the "state designed and approved" fence. Now that they are there the dept of fish and wildlife wants to destroy them. They have known about them all along but they didn't care to try and help out a long time ago. Instead they sat back and did nothing until now.
We NEED morning volunteer dog walkers Monday's, Tuesday's and Friday's -- 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
