Please, if you know somebody who lives more on the country side where there is less danger out there, let us know, our tuxedo, Tuco is ready to be adopted in a place where he will be able to go out and freely hunt.
Tuco is funny and can live with other pets except mice for which he is a really good hunter. Good health, 5 y.o. Smart and dynamic tuxedo cat very funny and playful.
I mentioned to my landlord that we had gotten the dog I was depressed over my father's death. She told me to get a doctor's note. I called my counselor and she said she would write the note. I then got a call back from the landlord stating she called the owner they can't allow it at all because then everyone else would want a dog too. But if I have a note form the doctor stating I have the dog as therapy for the depression they can't evict me for it right? In the meantime I will be looking for a new home anyway because I don't want to live somewhere that my dog is not welcome and giving her up is NOT an option! She is part of the family and she is the only thing that keeps me sane some days.
Does anyone have a good understanding of the laws for dogs as therapy? Or know of apts in the Lowell area that are dog friendly and no more than $850 for 2 br?
If it's the second reason stick together as a group especially if everyone else was given the same verbal permission. Perhaps offer to pay extra for the dogs (common demand in lots of apts. throught the US). Offer noise and poop scoop rules and the like.
However (a bit too late word to the wise), don't ever move ANYWHERE without your dog and/or cat written into the lease!
PS-it's always a good idea to have your dog Canine Good Citizen trained especially when renting. I'd do that ASAP, before eviction court . It will matter that your dog is well behaved enough to be CGC certified.

OP~I am hoping someone can offer me some advice. I have lived in the same apt complex for the past 3 years and have always been in good standing, never had any complaints. I found the apt through a realtor and at the time I had a cat and was told that I could have pets but they could not put it in my lease because then they would have to let everyone have pets. Since then I've had hamsters and fish and the landlord has been aware of them all, no problems. A couple of months ago we adopted a small dog. She is liscenced in our town, utd on all shots. She only ever leaves the appt on a leash, her toilet area is in the woods at the edge of the property and we pick up her poop after every trip outside. She is kenneled when we sleep or if we need to leave the house and she has never caused damages. She barks occasionally if someone approaches the door or sometimes when we take her out for a walk if she sees another animal....A couple of months ago we adopted a small dog. In our complex there are at least two others with dogs, including my landlord who keeps 3 large dogs, and several people with cats. Suddenly today we were given a warning and told we need to either find another place to live or get rid of the dog if we don't want to be evicted. This dog is part of our family and I will not get rid of her. What can we do. The lease states no live animals, but I was given verbal permission and obviously there are others who have been allowed to have pets as well. The people across from us have a small dog and they let it defecate everywhere and don't clean up after it and it barks at my dog.
My dog is not aggressive, she is friendly to every one and I can't even understand why this is suddenly a problem. It is very upsetting. I can look for another placed to live but it is hard to find a place that will take animals which I why I moved in here. Any help would be so welcome. I am heart broken over this and worried about losing my home. Thanks in advance!
