Oak Roll Top Desk (Methuen) $200

This is a 25 + year old solid oak roll top desk. We paid $1200 in the early 80's at a local woodworking shop and have gotten may good years out of it. Now, unfortunately, it's just taking up space.

The desk could use a new coat of stain as the sheen has worn off on in a few places. The roll top works well but will need either repair or replacement of on or two of the half-round peices (at top barely noticeable when closed and not at all when open), and will need a partial hole patched in the back where someone (not saying who...ooops) tried to drill a hole to run wires through. All the drawers work great and I have the original key, the base of the lock just needs a couple small brass screws to reattach it...they must have gotten misplaced over the years.

The desk comes apart to make it easier to move, but you'll still need a truck as the top is pretty big.

These two bureaus were acquired separately but they go well together. They have the same knobs and same color.

The short bureau has three drawers, and they all work. The picture makes it look darker than it is. It is close in color to the tall one.
The tall bureau has five drawers and the bottom one doesn't work, but it has all its original pieces.

I will leave both pieces on my sheltered porch if you want them. Best offer, barter, whatever!

It has the brass "Cavalier" figure on the inside of chest, placing it somewhere in the 1920-1940's. The paperwork for the presentation plaque is still attached to the inside cover along with the actual personalized "presentation plaque" inside the holder.
