Position available for 2 to 6 months, depending on your schedule.
Responsibilities include:
• Planning project-based activities based on specific guidelines provided by Community Day Care. Successful projects will be interdisciplinary, hands-on, and both academically and developmentally appropriate. Upon completion, projects will be shared with families and/or the school community.
• Modifying projects for various age groups and students’ individual needs
• Communicating with Latchkey staff and Community Day Care in advance about each project and including their input/suggestions in the project design
• Working with Latchkey students each week to implement the project
Qualified candidates will demonstrate:
• Enthusiasm for project-based learning; creativity and innovation in planning
• Experience working with children
• The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
• The ability to motivate and engage students in learning
Compensation:
• Based on degree and experience.

Position Qualifications and Skills Desired:

Passionate advocate for students able to articulate a clear vision of educational goals.
Minimum of a Master’s degree. Substantial graduate study in educational administration, including courses in supervision & evaluation, curriculum and instruction, and legal issues. Evidence of high academic achievement.
Successful experience as a teacher/educator at the primary level.
Highly effective interpersonal skills, excellent writing, speaking and listening skills; ability to work cooperatively with multiple constituencies.
Proficiency with administrative and instructional applications of technology.
Thorough understanding of excellent teaching practices, educational law, IDEA regulations, school finance, and DESE mandates.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate emergent curriculum for young children.
• Develop activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program.
• Develop culturally appropriate program and activities.
• Clearly and effectively communicate with children, parents and staff.
• Discuss children’s development with parents in bi-annual parent/teacher conferences.
