I'm truly fed up with this too.
If, for example, you post an ad looking for a babysitter, and you post it on Craigslist, keep in mind that there are LOTS and LOTS of people who babysit part time.
Most of them look on here for work.
Furthermore, during a depression, lots of people look outside the box for odd jobs, including in childcare, so there are even more applicants than usual.

So if someone responds to your ad, in my opinion you have one of three options: respond by saying, "I'd like to discuss this further. When are you available?" Or respond by saying, "Thanks for your time, the position's been filled." Or, if they aren't qualified, respond with "I'm sorry, but I was actually hoping my applicants would have..."

Not responding, as far as I'm concerned, is obnoxious and demonstrates a lack of empathy toward other human beings. Yes, you're busy. So is everyone else!
Also, lots of providers post their own ads on here. If you don't have time to sort through applicants, seek your babysitter out yourself.
I don't post my own ads because I seem to get better responses from replying to existing ones, but lots of us do. Try them!

They have decided to grandfather in some of the cats, but NO dogs at all. They say if they make an exception for one, they have to make an exception for all and they don't want all 176 of their tenants having dogs. The owner has a couple of dogs and lives onsite part of the year but they don't count him, and supposedly the other neighbors with dogs are being evicted and I was lucky enough to get a warning so I could look for another place.

I mentioned to my landlord that we had gotten the dog I was depressed over my father's death. She told me to get a doctor's note. I called my counselor and she said she would write the note. I then got a call back from the landlord stating she called the owner they can't allow it at all because then everyone else would want a dog too. But if I have a note form the doctor stating I have the dog as therapy for the depression they can't evict me for it right? In the meantime I will be looking for a new home anyway because I don't want to live somewhere that my dog is not welcome and giving her up is NOT an option! She is part of the family and she is the only thing that keeps me sane some days.

Does anyone have a good understanding of the laws for dogs as therapy? Or know of apts in the Lowell area that are dog friendly and no more than $850 for 2 br?
