You can make a difference by helping plan the walk, recruiting walkers, and coming up with fun ideas for family-friendly entertainment. People with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis -- and their friends and families -- will be grateful for your efforts, and money raised will support Psoriasis Cure Now, a nonprofit group pushing for a cure for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
We need someone -- you? -- to bring the Psoriasis Walk to Boston!
Our nonprofit group, powered by volunteers, had 4 successful Psoriasis Walks in 2009 (pictures and info: www.psoriasiswalk.org). We are expanding the program to serve more people with psoriasis and promote awareness, so we can unlock more funding to find a cure.
Volunteering at the Society is a great way to build your portfolio, learn about the history of the region, and meet new people while providing a valuable public service!

Volunteers will recieve any study medication in conjunction with their study visits at no cost, as well a a stipend for travel.

Researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital are conducting a research study to learn more about the influence of family factors in the development and maintenance of Trichotillomania and chronic hair pulling. You may be eligible if you are between 13-65 years of age and frequently pull out your hair.
We are enrolling individuals 13-65 years of age who have been diagnosed with Trichotillomania, or have chronic hair pulling, and their first-degree relatives (parents, children, and siblings). Family members do not need to have a history of hair pulling in order to take part.
Participation consists of a one-time visit divided into 3 parts:
- An interview
- Self-report questionnaires (filled out prior to your visit)
- DNA (blood or saliva) sample to be collected upon your visit
Study participation is strictly voluntary and may require 2-4 hours per person. Upon completion of all study tasks, each participant will be paid $50 for his/her participation.

We are looking for volunteers to help low income households prepare their federal and state income tax returns, using online tax preparation software. One of our goals is to help low income people claim tax credits for which they may be eligible. Volunteer counselors provide the assistance in accordance with IRS guidelines and applicable ACTION policies.
