We believe that people are our strength and appreciate your interest. EP’s Enterprise Systems Development group is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer.
The Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in our Enterprise Systems Development team. We are looking for an experienced engineer to help support existing applications as well as contribute to the development of new project initiatives in Java. The ability to collaborate and work directly with our internal customers to solve complex business and technical issues are essential in this position.
Responsibilities include:
• Research, analysis, and troubleshooting of issues.
• Design, development and maintenance of software components and systems.
• Object-oriented data analysis and design.
• Test planning and analysis; component and system testing.
• Technical documentation writing (specifications, plans, diagrams, descriptions).
• Technical leadership and collaboration.
Qualifications include:
• 5+ years of experience in Java / J2EE development
• 5+ years strong experience with J2EE patterns and strong Java skills, including working knowledge of core libraries, design patterns, Struts, JSP, EJB, XSLT, XML, Spring, GWT, Servlets and Hibernate
• 5+ years of experience with multi-tier service oriented architecture, including knowledge of Oracle 10, Tomcat, and web services.
• 5+ years of experience developing code, troubleshoot infrastructure and application problems independently and/or in collaboration with other technical members of the team.
• 2+ years of experience tuning SQL queries with complex business logic. Solid knowledge of joins, views, triggers, stored procedures, and data normalization.
• 2+ years experience with front end technologies including JSTL, Javascript, Style Sheets, HTML, DHTML, JSON and Ajax.
Experience with online bibliographic products is preferred. Qualified applicants must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong analytical and problem solving skills. Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, documentation, development, testing, implementation and deployment of java web applications using software industry standards is preferred.
