The Software Engineer will play a key role in our Editorial Systems Development team. We are looking for an excellent engineer to help support existing applications as well as contribute to the development of new project initiatives. You must have good organizational skills and have the ability to collaborate and work directly with our internal customers to solve complex business and technical issues.
Responsibilities include:
• Research and analysis.
• Design, develop and maintain software components and systems.
• Object-oriented data analysis and design.
• Test planning and analysis; component and system testing.
• Technical documentation writing (specifications, plans, diagrams, descriptions).
• Research, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues.
• Technical leadership and collaboration.
Qualifications include:
• 2+ years experience with server-side Java.
• 2+ years demonstrated experience with Enterprise Java components including JSP, Servlets, JDBC, XML, Struts/Webwork, Spring and Hibernate.
• 2+ years experience with RDBMS, preferably Oracle. Knowledge of joins, views, triggers, stored procedures, data normalization, etc.
• 2+ years of experience with object oriented design and development and with client side development including JSTL, Javascript, Style Sheets, HTML, DHTML, JSON and Ajax.
• 2+ years of experience with Tomcat, Apache and/or other app servers.
We are looking for an individual with strong analytical ability, solid problem solving skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable working both in small teams and independently.
