Endicott College is a Baccalaureate and Master’s degree granting institution located on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Endicott enrolls more than 2025 undergraduates and 2000 Masters and Professional Studies students on its Beverly Campus. The College also has campuses in Mexico City and Madrid.

ASSISTANT NETWORK MANAGER

The primary role of this position is to ensure efficient continued operation of all networks and networking equipment. The employee will be involved in the design and implementation of networking technologies as well as ongoing support of those technologies.

Knowledge of new and alternative technologies that might help the College will be obtained through regular interaction with vendors and service providers. This position provides direct support and assistance to the Network Manager and has backup responsibility for insuring the integrity, security and access to the campus-wide data network. Some off-hour/weekend work will be required to respond to critical network problems and modifications.

Qualifications are a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related major or comparable work experience. Must have experience with TCP/IP networking protocols. Other experience with data link protocols including Ethernet, 802.11 wireless LAN, programming experience in C, Perl, PHP, or other higher language, and experience with relational databases is desired. The successful candidate must have knowledge of servers with Active Directory, BSD, Linux, and other Unix Operating systems as well as knowledge of switches, routers and servers. Prior experience with network management software and protocols a plus. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience in a higher education environment preferred. Candidates with one to three years of networking experience are encouraged to apply.
