Woburn Based company Looking for Mid Level Network Admin
Job Purpose
The Systems Administrator will maintain, support and troubleshoot IT infrastructure. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the management of day to day IT infrastructure support as well as acting in third level support for the helpdesk.
Principal Responsibilities
Participate in change management, incident review and root cause analysis.
Perform network, storage, and systems maintenance, tuning, troubleshooting, and administration. Monitor network and systems health, assess alarm conditions, and escalate incidents as appropriate.
Windows 2003, 2008, 2008R2 server configuration standardization and deployments. Applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
Installing and configuring new hardware and software.
Document relevant configurations, processes and procedures.
Assist manager in management of office relocation projects and datacenter infrastructure.
Handle Corporate server backup infrastructure for corporate office.
Aid in infrastructure planning for server and network upgrading emphasizing consolidation of services while maintaining high resource availability.
Assist with management and maintain inventory of IT assets. Perform routine audits of systems and software.
Play a proactive role in identifying and helping to resolve critical issues that may arise.
Analyze needs, research and evaluate technical options, propose and implement solutions.
Participate and contribute in group IT projects.
Plan, manage, and implement assigned tasks and projects. Coordinate with corporate users and external parties (vendors, consultant, etc.) as appropriate.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years experience in a Systems Administrator Role
MCSE or demonstrated relevant experience preferred.
Knowledge and troubleshooting of Windows Server 2003, Server 2008 and Windows XP.
Knowledge and troubleshooting of Active Directory and group policies.
Knowledge and troubleshooting of Exchange Server 2007 and Office Communications Server 2007.
Knowledge of VMWare vSphere 4.0 preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft System Center Product lines - (System Center Operations Manager , System Center Configuration Manager)
Knowledge of LAN/WAN topologies and troubleshooting ( Sonicwall Firewalls, Vlans, HP Switching preferred)
Knowledge of HP Server Hardware ( Blades, Proliant Servers)
Knowledge of ISCSI Storage Solutions ( HP Lefthand)
Familiarity with IP Telephony.
Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment and to adapt to rapid change.

Ability to participate in 24x7 on call rotation
Ability to work “off hours” when needed for projects and system maintenance.
