My wife is from China and loves this movie. She totally cracks up at the whole Chinese restaurant scene at the end (and she's a PhD).

If you really want to celebrate diversity, then don't diminish it through censorship. If anything, the movie can be discussed with kids as to why certain aspects of culture are shown as they are (including guns, leg lamps, and why Chinese restaurants are open on Christmas).

That movie essentially promotes gun violence to children because the main character, "Ralphie", dreams of owning a gun so he can shoot the bad guys. He refers to it as a "peacemaker." His dad ends up getting the gun for him for Christmas. Not to mention the implied profanity and Asian stereotypes!! When they are singing "Deck the Halls", the Asians stereotypically sing "Fa-Ra-Ra" instead of "Fa-La-La". And to top it all off, the objectification of women as objects when the father wins the leg-lamp.

As a concerned parent, I can't let my kids watch this movie. You should really think twice about letting your children watch this "Christmas classic."

So, here's a Christmas story for ya. I was shopping in the Home Depot in Danvers, and pulled out my wallet to look at a receipt from another store. When I shoved my wallet into my back pocket, it must have caught on my shirt and popped back out. When I got up to the register with all my stuff, I hear my name being paged to come to the service area. I'm like, how do they know my name? Then I realized I didn't have my wallet.

Turns out that a customer saw it laying in the middle of an aisle and turned it in. All the credit cards were there, my bank cards, medical cards. To top it off, the $300 cash was still there (I had two hundreds and a fifty, with other loose bills). I was amazed that everything was intact, as I was sure that the money would be long gone. Not so.

I don't know who you are, but you are a great person. It would have been one royal pain in the ass to lose my wallet right before Christmas. Beyond cancelling credit cards, I would be standing in line at the RMV to get a new license.

It's a great venue for a live performance! There are no seats in the pit on the first floor where the stage is. The floor is also elevated from the stage up which helps if you're standing towards the back of the venue. Second level has standing room only and sucks unless you get right next to the railings. Otherwise you cannot see the stage. There are seats on the third level. I've included a shot of first, the second/third floors looking down to the stage...and then of their floor plan.

As far as getting your "skank on" not sure what that means, but if you're looking for young chicks there? Every time I've gone there have been plenty.

The entire public heathcare debate is all very silly to me. All this talk about implementing a public option, the cost, illegals, quality of care and so on is kind of meaningless.

I would like to point out that we already have a public option. Anyone can show up at any emergency room and get treated, uncle sam picks up the tab. This is the reason that our existing system is broken. Who do you think paid for the octomom's 8 babies, junkies weekly trips to the ER, addition services? You!

If we are going to offer life saving care for free (which we have to); then we need to offer some way to control those costs. Eliminating proactive care only forces the sick into ER's where it costs substantially more. ER docs are expensive, the facilities are expensive, they have to run the same test over and over, there is no follow up to prevent them coming back. Now that is expensive. I would rather pay for simple proactive care for the poor then have them jam up the ERs for when I really need it and rack up huge bills that I have to pay for.

Back in September I got some estimates for new windows. On September 27th I signed a contract. They said I would have my new windows within 3-4 weeks. Well after weeks of calling they finally called me today and said it wont be until the end of January.
I told them I plan to terminate my contract and want my $2000 deposit back, they said I cant do that.

So okay, if I get my new windows in January will they qualify for that stimulus package?

I think for now on I need to start hiring a husband" when I get bids. Last month when I got bids for drywalling ONE room I got bids for $18,000 and $19,000. My father called and gave measurements for the same siz rooms and got estimates for $5000.

Okay, so I am somewhat of a sentamentalist here...most of us women are.

I asked, for 20+-years for ONE thing from my husband ... a love letter. Handwritten, outlining just ONE thing that was uniquely me that made him love me. That was honestly the only thing I ever wanted... It would have been the best gift ever. Meant more than any trinket or gift...I never got it.

Just a thought...don't know your wife and I do know a lot of men have a hard time expressing themselves...but I think just about any woman would be touched forever by that.

There is a new place on rt 60, between the rotarys of 107 & rt 1 (copland circle) called , La Puerta Del Sol. Just awesome ! Fantastic food. Mexican. Fresh, very reasonably priced, Just awesome ! It is a gift to have this place so close to me. I've been 7 times so far and have never been dissappointed. They even serve breakfast that will knock your socks off. I just love these new little places, these gems that offer so much for so little. Sadly this is common these days; even in little old Lexington. People are stealing the metal to sell for scrap. A while back the price of metals soared and the thefts were on the rise, the price has fallen but maybe the scumbags did not get the memo. One has to wonder what kind of scrap dealer is going to accept a bronze plaque. About a year ago 3 scumbags were caught stealing 680 veteran markers from grave sites in Saugus to support an Oxy addiction. Hopefully a dealer with a brain will recognize this and return it, if it has not already been melted.

been untouched and resting silently in Lexington, Ma for one-hundred years. ( Erected 1910 by the Lexington Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution )

Think about the reason why.
In order to pull out of a conflict you have to beef up your troops.
In order to move everything out of the country you need to have troops to operate the equipment, protect the troops who are leaving, and push the fight forward to take steps backwards.
Where there to leave, and the only thing that will keep us there past the three year mark is anther world war.

I weighed in on the subject yesterday and will reiterate- Some guys look good with a bald/ shaved head and others can't pull it off without being asked how long they've been sick.
Factors like head shape, ear size/ shape, scars/ moles, facial features/ symmetry, etc all figure in.
Some of us are on the Yul Brynner end of the spectrum and some of you look like the next words out of your mouth should be 'MY PRECIOUSSSS!'.
If I grew my hair out, what of it there is, I'd have to grow it long enough to comb straight back and even then the encroaching baldness would screw the look up. I know better and work with what I have (left).
The other thing is that many ladies love to rub a smooth noggin when a cunning linguist is working his magic. Not to brag, at least not too much, but when it's me rocking the little man in the boat, you'll forget your name by the time I'm done. Hey, we all have to be good at something. I'd even convert the girl who likes to call us names like Mr Potatohead. It would become an extreme term of endearment.

I was young once upon a time ,,did 5 years up state for a robbery....got out and it seems that no one will give me a chance..work for 7 dollars an hour at burger king,,that will pay my bills and put my kid through school..I have more experience in construction than most people but the c o r i will always hold me back..Between child support for my first son and and tuition for my other son I need to make a decent living...15-20 bucks an hour is not much for skilled labor/carpenter...The union has no work either ...unless you are a apprentice....I am ranting right now....Maybe tomorrow something good will happen for me ....

"An East Boston school was evacuated Monday morning after two dozen students reported nausea and dizziness as a gas odor swept through the school.

Boston Fire Chief Ron Keating said the origin of the problem at the the Excel Academy Charter School was unclear. Authorities tested the building twice and there are no levels of gas in the school. But the building will remain empty until the hazardous-materials team investigates.

At least 24 students, between fifth and eighth grade, huddled under blankets on a curbside corner; about half wore oxygen masks.

At least four students were loaded into ambulances for evaluation. "Most of them have been cleared," said Principal Komal Bhasin.

Three MBTA buses pulled up at the school on 1150 Saratoga St., and students boarded them to keep warm. School officials said the students will remain there and eat lunch and review test materials until they can re-enter the building.

Rebecca Cass, executive director of Excel Academy Charter School, says the school plans to continue the day as normal, once students are told they can re-enter the building.

"We haven't made that decision, but we'd like to keep our student body here,'' Cass said.

But some parents as the scene expressed concern over their students re-entering the building.

"I'm taking her out of here,'' said Eric Buonopane, of his daughter Skyla, who is in the fifth grade. "I don't care what they say.''

Men and women have the same problem when it comes to this sticky subject. Who really wants to be honest with you when they've have one or many depending on their lifestyle??? NO ONE!!!
