SUMMARY
Responsible for oversight of operations of the rape crisis center, including: 24-hour crisis hotline, individual and group counseling, education and outreach, staff training and interagency consultation and collaboration. The Director will facilitate community collaborations and cooperative agreements, work closely with other service providers and work to reduce barriers to services for survivors of sexual assault, incest and rape and coordinate primary prevention education.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: All NBH employees are expected to be familiar and comply with the agency's policies and procedures which are presented in the employee handbook. NBH places a high value on its stated principles of positive customer/consumer relations. Full compliance with federal and state regulations regarding client confidentiality is critical to NBH operating principles, including specific confidentiality issues that apply to the operation of a rape crisis center. The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include the following:

1.Personnel management through direct reports; including hiring, performance review, staff development, discipline, and termination;
2.Development, modification, and monitoring of operating policies and procedures;
3.Coordinating services with other division and agency programs;
4.Budget development and monitoring, including revenue and expense tracking and adjustment;
5.Collaborating with community leaders and social service providers;
6.Representing the agency/program at networking meetings with funders and other community social service agencies;
7.Grant and contract writing in collaboration with the NHS Foundation and VP of HIV/AIDS & Community Services;
8.Seeking out community support and additional funding in collaboration with the NHS Foundation
9.Coordinating internships with graduate programs, including compliance with internship requirements and documentation;
10.Work directly with survivors providing individual and group counseling, medical advocacy and hospital accompaniment, legal advocacy and police accompaniment;
11.Providing or securing appropriate clinical supervision for staff and volunteers;
12.Overseeing all program reporting to agency and funding sources;
13.Assuring compliance with programmatic requirements as outlined by DPH and other funded contracts;
14.Participating in and reporting on quality management activities;
15.Remaining informed and updated on current research and practices related to sexual assault and trauma as well as primary prevention;
16.Participating in on-call 24-hour hotline and medical accompaniment schedule, including evening and weekend coverage.
17.Ensure office and hotline staffing to meet survivor needs and contractual obligations.
Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the advocates, counselors and other staff members of the rape crisis program. Also oversees a network of hotline volunteers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluation and management; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Master's degree required (MSW, M.A. in Counseling, Psychology, Mental Health or related field). Must have at least 3 years of management/supervisory experience. Clinical experience with trauma survivors, sexual assault, domestic violence or individuals with PTSD preferred. LCSW, LICSW or LMHC strongly desired. The North Shore Rape Crisis Center also values life experience and survivors of sexual assault are encouraged to apply.

Salary up to 50K based on experience.
