The Northeast Arc/Heritage Industries, providing community based vocational rehabilitation services for individuals with developmental disabilities, seeks candidates for a full-time Job Developer in our busy Supported Employment program. Candidates need to be dependable/hands-on advocates with strong business background. Primary responsibilities are to secure successful community employment and provide employment readiness training for individuals ready for community employment.
Some Duties include:
• Conduct assessments and facilitate career planning, interest inventories, resume writing and pre-employment trainings.
• Search for appropriate placements for assigned individuals through cold calls, contacting existing employers and other networking.
• Develop a job coaching/support plan when a placement is secured.
• Document all contacts and complete all follow-up activity.
• Transport individuals in own personal vehicle (with mileage reimbursement.)
• Perform advocacy and case management responsibilities
Requirements:
BS/BA in Psychology or related field OR 1-2 years experience working with adults who are developmentally disabled or other related experience preferred. Knowledge of American Sign Language a plus!! Good oral and written communication skills. Current valid Massachusetts Driver's license. Team player, ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends (if applicable.) Must have physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Hours: M-F, 8am-4pm, in general, with flexibility to work alternate hours at times depending on needs of individuals and employers.
Salary: $13.00/hour with an extensive benefits package!!!
