The Northeast Arc/Heritage Industries, providing community based vocational rehabilitation services for individuals with developmental disabilities, seeks candidates for a full time Community Placement Specialist (Employment Specialist) to job develop and job coach our individuals in a busy vocational program. Candidates need to be dependable/hands-on advocates with strong business background.
Interface with employers and assist in developing appropriate working relationship between employer and individual while ensuring vocational and social progress. Applicants must have exceptional time management skills ensuring that both the employers and individuals’ needs are met. Experience in a vocational setting working directly with individuals with disabilities preferred. Case management responsibilities/daily documentation required. Dedicated and team approach appreciated with attention to established protocol.
BS/BA in related field OR 1-2 years experience working with adults who are developmentally disabled or other related experience preferred. Knowledge of American Sign Language a plus!!
This is a full time position, 40 hours, M-F, 8am-4pm, in general, with flexibility to work alternate hours at times depending on needs of individuals and employers.
Must be willing to drive individuals to and from work in their own reliable vehicle.
Salary is $12.30/hour (non-negotiable) with an extensive benefits package
