Got a load of 4 cord last year from the Dirt Doctors in Chelmsford.....their name says it all. About 3/4 cord short, some rotten, moldy wood, plus about 3/4 cord of dirt, hence their name!! So back to craigslist this year......called an outfit out of NH, 603-978-5012......good price ($275 per cord) including delivery for 3.5 cord (he even talked me up from 3 to 3.5 cord because that's what their truck delivers!!).....assured that they deliver good, clean, seasoned wood.....16"-18" logs........Well I get home the night after they delivered........nice pile in the driveway when I got home, looked good on top........next week started to stack.......got about 1.5 cords stacked and hit the crap!! Same thing as the year before, rotten wood, TONS of dirt and debri all stuck to the wood.......wet and stinky.....plus half of it was little sticks, not split logs!!.........real CRAP!! (I do have pictures, both this year and last year) Tried calling them about six times........when I did get through I was told that the guy who handles the wood is not in and he'd call back.....obviously no call back.....started to feel very similar to my experience the year before........then I saw a post linking this NH outfit with the Dirt Doctors, though different phone numbers, different names....the mark of true scam artists........duped again as the cold weather moves in........is there anyone honest out there anymore?!?!
