This was most insightful comprehensive posting I have ever come across on Craig's List. Thanks for taking the time to write it and share your experiences. The music community, all over, would be a better place if more/all musicians would/could avoid the traps you discussed. Believe in yourself and you can make the sharks go away... as well as scary monsters hiding under your bed!!!

Hey, I am an old friend of a guitar player named Mike Barnes. I knew him from Long Island, New York and many many years ago he moved to Boston. He worked for a company with "USA" (I think) in the title and was / is a guitarist with some cover bands in the Boston area. Mike played in a band with me (called The Blue Rogues) in New York probably 13 or 14 years ago or so before moving to Boston. I re-established contact with him but lost contact again when he left his company, something "USA". I can't find him on Myspace or Facebook. (It's not Michael Barnes, the funk guitarist from Jersey.)

If someone knows him or think you might know him, please email him this ad. (link.) Thanks a lot!!
Hey Mike, send me an email!!

Can you be George Harrison? (Easton, MA)

Magical Mystery 4, a Beatles cover band is looking for musicians. We generally like to have our bass player sing Paul's part, our rhythm guitarist sing John's parts and our lead guitarist sing George's parts. drummer sings Ringo parts, but we are open to other possibilities.
We have four people right now. Our lead guitarist (George guy) is leaving us for personal reasons in the near future. We need to replace him ASAP. We also like to have at least two lineups for the band in the event that someone can't make a gig. We'd like to have everyone working on and familiar with the same songs.
We don't look like the Beatles or dress in costumes, although some sort of matching Bealtesque clothing will be worn. Nothing fancy or expensive, perhaps just black turtlenecks. We do however try to play the music as close as possible to the original recordings or live performances. We try to rehearse at least once a week and could do more if needed. We are a fairly new band and have only done a few gigs. We are open to doing some audition type (non-paying) gigs if we feel as though they will give us some good exposure and may lead to paying gigs down the road. These would be mostly short one-set opening act sort of gigs. We do try to use instruments that are similar to what the Beatles played. If you don't have a Gretsch, Hofner or Rickenbacker however, don't worry about it for now. Whatever you have will be fine. We would expect that if you decided to do this long term that you might want to get an appropriate instrument, but it's not an absolute. We have several resources for learning the material. So if you've been playing Beatle songs for a long time, but haven't been doing them correctly, you might have to relearn them a bit.
On the positive side, we have a free, clean, comfortable rehearsal space in Easton which contains a PA, enough amps for everyone, drums and even an extra guitar or two. All you have to bring is you guitar or sticks. We do however, expect everyone to chip in and help with the packing, loading and unloading for gigs.
We are pretty laid back and not on any timetable. We do have a potential gig coming up in about a month, but we may be covered for that. We want people who are thinking about the long term. We want to play out, have fun and get paid. We also want to make sure that we have it all together when we do. We want all of our parts to be correct and well played and our harmonies to be tight.
So if you love the Beatles music and have always wanted to play in a Beatles band, or if you have experience playing in a Beatles band, give us a try. I think that you'll find us to be a fun group and very easy to get along with.
Check us out at MySpace.com/MagicalMystery4. Sorry for the poor quality of the videos. We’re planning on having new ones made soon.

We're a roots-rock quartet of guitars and vocals, bass, and mando/fiddle and we're looking for a drummer who can handle anything from rock to jazz to bluegrass and wants to be in a band. We play up and down the east coast, are in the midst of recording a record, and are working toward being a full-time band. In the meantime, there's a lot of hard work that goes into it and we need a drummer who's ready to go for it. We rehearse and/or play out 3-4 times a week and hit the road every couple of months. All of us have day jobs still, but we put all of our other time and efforts into making this happen. If you're interested, are preferably 25-35yo, and have your own transportation, please get in touch. Thanks.

MUSICIANS WANTED: I KNOW YOU'RE OUT THERE! (North Easton)

Are you tired of all the politics involved in playing out?

Does the pay you get not make it worth the effort?

Well here’s a breath of fresh air for you!

I’ve decided to reincarnate an older project that used to be fun before it became a job. My ambition isn’t to go out and get the most gigs, book the most clubs or make the most money. It is simply to have fun playing music and have a ball doing it. What I am putting together is a unique project where like-minded musicians can come-together weekly and play for the sheer enjoyment of making some great sounding music in a studio environment. There won’t be any strict musical format other than some basic songs to get things warmed up which we can decide on later. I am a born and raised classic rocker at the ripe old age of 61 so needless to say anything in that era flies with me. Anything that everyone likes to play will be fair game whether it’s classic rock, British rock, southern rock, funk, R&B, jazz, pop or alternative from the 50’s to present. I’ll only be looking for a few good people to put this together as it’s not going to be an open jam. I play drums so that instrument slot is already filled. Ideally I would like to find one, maybe two guitarists, a bassist and a keyboardist. Being able to contribute vocally will certainly be a plus.

Bear in mind that there won’t be any pay involved with this project albeit if someone should want to hire our services I don’t think that would be a problem for the right price and if everyone was in agreement. If you are interested all I ask is that you be reliable and show up each week out of courtesy for the others.

There are lots of talented people and studios producing great music in the area and cheers to all who are creating. So what’s the best situation for you? With a focus on the solo artist, my project studio was established in 2005 and has produced over 60 demos, 6 full length records and several EP’s. Unlike most studios, I offer song development services in addition to engineering and mixing which may include arranging, part writing and other musical suggestions to help realize your song’s intentions. Some other notable points to consider:

* An experienced, credited and published multi-instrumentalist, music producer/engineer with a Berklee film scoring degree and years of live performance on bass and keyboards on your side.

*Specialties include rock, pop, singer/songwriter, folk, beat production and electronic music.

*Already recorded your project? Rework your previous unsatisfactory tracks from other studios with a fresh set of ears.

*Also an affordable way to professionally record your student audition/demo or voice over reel.

*Engineering rate is $25/hour. Producer packages are $450/song with all aspects of production included.

Hi. I am interested in starting a regular Thursday night jam session in the South End. I only have the space for about an hour, however, so it probably only makes sense for you if you live in the neighborhood. That said, there will be drums and a keyboard (with amp) provided. Possibly a bass amp, too, if you play electric. (I will look into that.) So, it will be easy to just "drop-in." (I play sax, by the way.) It looks like I already have a couple of interested drummers, but if you play bass or keys, or maybe guitar, we need ya. The space is a rental, but it's cheap: $5 per person. If that's a deal-breaker for you, I'll try to help you out. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

TOTALLY FREE Promo. Help For MySpace Artists (Ma.)

... If you have a MySpace page, you know that people who are browsing around are more apt to stop and check out a profile with higher numbers than lower.

Also, If you're also taking the approach of sending out your MS page to prospective managers, promoters, club owners or booking agents etc., the increased numbers will obviously help spark the initial interest in you and leave a far better first impression. (hopefully enough to get them to the next step by pressing the "play" button on your profile player)

Here's an opportunity to give your MySpace page a totally safe little numbers boost and get 200+PLAYS/VIEWS ADDED FREE (if you want less than 200, or added to a particular song, let me know) WITH ABSOLUTELY NO OBLIGATION WHATSOEVER. Once the plays and views are added, they cannot be removed.

Just respond with the band name or MySpace url that you want them applied to and it's done. That's it. Nothing else needed (NO PASSWORD OR USER I.D. NECESSARY) because your page isn't ever entered and no bots or scripting software are used at all. This is totally legit and absolutely safe for your page.

Please don't think this is one of those "sounds too good to be true" or "nothings free" type things. It's true and it's free. I'll show you.

After you receive the free ones, I'll send you one email with some info. on how to get more plays/views in the future if you were interested in perhaps a low-key, believable and discreet ongoing daily "add", or a one time amount to help gain attention to your page. (those wouldn't be free, but almost)
I'm an independent musician myself with experience in different areas of the field, not some software promotions company or anything, and I can really help you help yourself.

Quick note : Once in a while an artist (usually involved only in the performing aspect of the business) will seem a little skeptical or hesitant and think this may be a form of cheating in one way or another. Not at all. You're not taking an exam or in some kind of race or competition against anybody. You're just marketing and hyping yourself a little by raising your numbers because that attracts attention. It's a minor form of promoting yourself, nothing else. People are much more likely stop and check you out if your numbers are higher, which in turn will increase your plays, friends, fans etc. You're only cheating yourself when you pass up easy opportunities that bring attention to you. Just think of it as an extra person helping you hand out a bunch of flyers.

I'm a performing singer/songwriter in my mid 20's who just moved back to Boston and am looking for a drummer to gig out with. I have a great bass player who plays both upright and electric and we are looking for a drummer to round things out. Music will be a mix of folk/rock and classic rock and roll. I've been gigging for ten years now both solo and with several bands and know what it takes to be succesful. Looking for talented players interested in making original music and who can be creative yet tasteful on the kit. Players must be reliable, have their own kit, and interested in creating original music. I've got lots of songs ready to go for a band, and want to get gigging. Experience with booking is a plus. We already have several gig offers for when we have the full band and are itching to get started.

Influences include Wilco, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Ryan Adams, Ray LaMontagne, Sam Cooke, Grateful Dead, The Doors, Jeff Tweedy, Mason Jennings, Muddy Waters, and the Rolling Stones.

Serious inquiries only. Email me for sound samples.

Classical Piano Lessons Offered:

Graduate student in music at Brandeis University seeks piano students. I have 7-8 years of teaching experience, my students having included pianists of all ages, from children just beginning to graduates of Juilliard’s Pre-College Division. As well as being very active as a performing soloist, and a prizewinner and laureate at several major piano competitions, additional experience includes:

- Having taught young pianists at the University of California at Berkeley
- Coached chamber music ensembles
- Accompanied instrumentalists and vocalists in the San Francisco Bay area and at Cornell University
- Prizes won as a composer (the focus of my graduate studies)

I have the good fortune of a good pedigree: my primary musical mentor was a student of Gina Bachauer and Michelangeli Benedetti. I have a tremendous passion for music and the richness it can bring to an individual’s life. I love to teach, and would like to become as active an instructor as possible. I can travel to any student’s home in the Boston/Cambridge area without a problem.

Usual fee: $40/lesson, where a lesson is an hour or a little longer (as long as the student may need, time permitting). For families/students for whom finances are a significant problem, I am more than happy to find a solution that works for us both.

A more detailed resume and references are available upon request. Please email if interested, or call Jared at 707-287-0491.

Man, I read every word of this. You can tell how this all just spilled out of you. I believe it and take it to heart. I can confirm that many local radio stations, who get tons of cds sent to them from acts and producers merely throw them into a bin to be either picked through by the interns or just trashed. Saw that myself.

I knew the so called "band" that posted how well they did through this system was a hoax. People here can tell. Anywhere there is a scam or a scammer whether it be a club, a restaurant or so called "production team", this is the place to hear about it.

Rest my friend, knowing you got the word out.

Original Poster Wrote:

I posted this earlier this week and I saw some people commented about it in a positive way. Take one more step and post this on another message board or anywhere bands go online. The more we post this the better we can make people aware of how awful this company is. I got contacted by their rep recently who told me that I know nothing about the music business and that he can see why I haven't done much with my band. I came back to him with facts of why he is wrong only to get a response back that said he would rather not respond to me with proof of how he has helped bands because it's not worth his time. Someone pointed out how Sonicbids is bad too. This is absolutely true. I am good friends with a lot of promoters who have told me that when they see a band has a Sonicbids account, they do not take it seriously at all.

Another thing I forgot about Illumina to point out, they say the cd gets sent to labels and stations. Yes this is true but I worked in radio for a long time and will tell you that when we received those comps from them, we threw them out. It's literally a joke that gets tossed right when it gets to radio. No DJ is going to listen to 20 tracks to find a good one to play and no label will listen to find a good track to sign a new band.

If we are ever going to change anything then we need to be on the same page and not give in. You are in a band, you create something special. Don’t let yourself be taking advantage of. If you are asked to Pay-to-play then please walk away.

I am sure most of you being local band have heard of things such as Emergenza and Illumina Records. If you ever get approached by one of these companys just turn away. Lets talk about Emergenza. This is a scam. They send you a myspace message telling you how great your song is and how you would be a great fit for their show. They will then set up a meeting with you via e-mail, phone or in person. They present to you their “festival” you accept and everything is good. Wrong.

Lets back up. Ok so they did not hear your song. Instead Emergenza will rent out a venue. Lets for example say Upstairs Middle East (which at capacity is around 200 I believe). So they look and see who is on myspace in Massachusetts as a band. They then send out a template message. This message has all the words they want you hear and its just copy and paste on to the next band. They did not take the time to see if you band is broken up, big, small or active. They did not take the time to see if your music is something they are interested in at all.

Once you reply and talk to them, they show you how they have corporate sponsors they will let you use their gear. Ok they are not letting you they are making you use it. No set up time means more bands can play in one night. And why would they want more bands? Because YOU need to pay to play! At the time when I met with the a couple years ago I think it was $100 bucks to sign up. I did not sign up I simply met with them to see how they worked. So lets recap for a second and think about this. Ok Emergenza rents out upstairs middle east lets say for 5 days. Each day has 7 bands. So they off the bat made 700 bucks from sign up fees. The corporate sponsors provide the gear so thats not an issue. So in 5 days they made $3500 off of fees. You then get 50 to 100 tickets that you MUST sell. I think you even pay a small price for the tickets or get hit with a fee if you don’t sell them all. I could be wrong about that but you play according to how many tickets you sell. The most goes last. The least goes first. Tickets are about $15-20. I think 15 in advance and 20 at the door. Ok this doesn’t make any sense. If every band sold 50 tickets thats 350 tickets. At a club capacity of 200. So there is no way to sell all the tickets. They collect more money of unsold tickets from the bands. They also take all the door money because no band gets paid. After each band plays they ask the crowd to vote on the band. The vote is done by everyone raising there hands and someone on the stage counts all the raised hands.

The most hands at the end of the night moves on to the next round which is sometime later at a bigger venue I believe. But how is this fair? What if you have 2 punk bands, one rock, one folk, one rap. Then there is a skewed voting process. One band could be awful but have a lot of friends to vote. This goes on until one band is chosen and then supposedly is brought to Europe to play a festival. They do this every year, maybe even a couple times a year. Do not let these people take advantage of you. Venue’s like the Middle East, TT the bears, Great Scott, All Asia are all great venue that will help you get a show if you just send in your music and ask. If not then set something up yourself. You will get paid to play and no money should come out of your pocket to play. Do it yourself.

Illumina records says that they started a label for drunk driving awareness after their owner saw a girl die from drunk driving. They make comps that are distributed to radio and labels for promo. This is just another scam.

This one is great. Lets make a comp. We will put 20 bands on one CD. We make all the artwork and press the CD ourselves. How do we get bands? Lets make a comp for all different areas of the US. For each area we will search myspace and ask bands to participate. But searching all those pages and filtering can take a long time. Lets “hire” people to do it for us. What Illumina does is rent a office in Beverly, MA. They have cubicles setup with employees. These are not employees but myspace slaves. Everyday you are assigned 2 or 3 letters. Example. Mark is assigned to find Bands in letters A-B that are around the San Francisco Area for the Bay Area Rockers Comp. Now Mark has a template to send out to bands as well which junk. It says how much the band rules and should not miss out on this opportunity to participate. They will get so much recognition from the CD and it’s a good cause. They then set up a meeting as well via phone. Mark has been told he needs to use his own cell number as well. How much does Mark get paid? Mark will receive a $50 commission check for every band they he gets to sign up. How much is it to sign up to be on this shitty comp? around $800.00 or more. This means that everyone working in this office could work all day and all week and only get one band. They made $80 bucks. They are pretty much working for free.

I know this because I was there for 3 days before I said fuck it. They will make off of one comp 16,000 dollars in fees. They then charge the bands if they want some copies for themselves to sell at shows. The artwork looks like shit and the tracks are not mixed. Lets talk about the worst thing I saw that made me leave. One of the guys running the place called us all into the office. A “employee” has a lead on a kid who wants to be on the CD (this one happens to be a hip-hop version). The catch is this kid has a friend who died in a drunk driving accident as well but does not have the money. So We all get called into the office because the boss is going to call the kid and convince him to participate. While talking to the kid the boss suggest that maybe they can put his friends picture inside of the CD and that they can get his friends mom to play for him to have his track on the CD. We get her number, call her, and convince her to fork over the money so that her son can have his picture on the CD and so that his friend can have his track on the comp. I left the next day. Do not be scammed into this. These companies will always stay in business if we keep bowing our heads.

We have to Refuse this mentality, Rethink our future, and Rebuild what we once knew.

Hey guys!

I am looking to start a project and in need of a serious drummer who is willing to learn, have fun and sooner than later- tour. I have years of playing live under my belt. I am a berklee student, guitarist/singer, 22 and willing to give this my all. Influences are Breaking Benjamin, Creed (yep i said it), Puddle of Mud, Thousand Foot Krutch, Muse, Yellowcard. Basically, it's Rock n Roll that is written in a format to fit on the radio, but doesn't give up and heavy or fun stuff in the process.

Let me know if you want to start something great.
Peace,

Our Tuesday Night Acoustic Music Session seeks a hand-drummer and also a fiddler to join our weekly music session. We play a mix of Americana, Celtic traditional, folk, blues, bluegrass, soft rock, alt-country, and classic rock. For instance, we play the music of: Gillian Welch, John Prine, Tom Waits, Ryan Adams, Shawn Colvin, Patty Griffin, Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Cash, Fleetwood Mac, Mindy Smith, and Neil Young, among many others. Four to eight of us get together to play every Tuesday night at 7:30PM. Instrumentation generally includes: male and female voices, keys, guitar, dobro, electric bass, mandolin, banjo, and harmonica. Our ages span from our 20s through 60s. We alternate our weekly meeting location depending on which musician wants to host the session; generally, we meet in Jamaica Plain or Dorchester, though sometimes in Lowell and other communities. Occasionally we play at local pubs, too. Please let us know if you're interested in joining us ~

You must:
1. be able to play to a click
2. be able to record drums in a good room on multiple channels simultaneously
3. must be able to communicate well and send files

the sound I typically go for is a combination of alternate tuned acoustic guitars layered with electric guitars, shredding solos, and haunting eastern melodies.

Guitar needed for rock/punk band (Billerica)

We're a newly formed band that plays basic, punk influenced rock. Influences include Black Sabbath, Pennywise, NOFX, Ryan's Hope, The Freeze, Social D, Jawbreaker, Suicidal Tendencies, early Alkaline Trio and way too many others to bother listing. We've got a drummer, bass player, and a guitar player/singer. We practice about once a week in Billerica, and we're looking to start getting out and playing some shows.

We'll provide some rough recordings and additional details for those with serious interest.

We're looking for a guitar player. If you fit the bill, and you're interested, let us know.

- Competent (Occasional leads would be nice, but solid rhythm playing is a MUST).

- Fast learner (We've got about 10-11 finished songs).

- Decent gear.

- Reliable. If you have to miss a practice, don't make up something about bomb threats and saving burning orphans from hungry bears.

- Have your own transportation. We practice in Billerica, and most of us come straight from work, so don't count on catching a ride with anyone.

- Ability to take and give criticism without pouting, sniveling, throwing stuff, crying, etc. If you decide to be Queen for a Day, we will rag on you, kick you out, and probably sleep with your girlfriend. We're not a mutual admiration society.

- Age range. We range from 25-33. As for you, be over 21, and be comfortable hanging with people in that age range.

- We don't mind if you're straight edge, but we aren't. If you have a problem with folks having a few beers, this probably isn't the band for you. If you don't make a stink about us indulging, we'll get along fine.

It may not sound it, but we're all pretty decent at what we do, we're comfortable playing with each other, and we're committed to doing this as well as we can and having some fun doing it. Nobody expects this to be a money-maker, we just love playing.

If it sounds like your thing, email us at guitarnumber2@yahoo.com

Full band seeks rhythm/lead guitarist with “backing vocals” to join a band with another lead/rhythm guitarist.

We are: Lead vocals, Guitar, Bass, Drums You--?

Also, you need to sing………

We play 70's & 80's rock mostly, and emphasis is on playing it like the record......NO fudging it. The Guitarist we're looking for is one who is psyched to be playing with another really good player because they are also really good. No competition nuts, being childish, or concerned all the time about showing up or being shown up, or trying to make someone look bad.......it's all about the band, not YOU.

Also, you need to sing………

Dual harmony lead lines, sharing the solos, being part of the band, and checking the ego at the door is also what it is all about, rather than if you are faster than the last guitarist that just auditioned.

Please be familiar with the 70's/80's material, rather than a Dream Theater head who just wants to get out and play with "anyone" regardless.

Also, you need to sing………

We’d like to learn solos and songs and show up ready to rehearse the song rather than practice at rehearsal. Practice is on your own.

Stage gear, mic & stand, ride, brain, etc., are also required.

Did we mention you need to sing…?

Blues-Influenced Metal Band Seeks Complimentary Guitar (Boston)

Band seeking a guitarist who can combine the brutality of metal with the groove of blues and southern rock. You can listen to us here: www.myspace.com/adarkinthelight. The song on our page that best encompasses what we do is "Disassembly Line."

We need a high energy, experienced band member -- someone who has the time, creative energy, professional gear, and money to contribute to a serious band. Your hard work and experience will be rewarded with the chance to jump into an active band with a solid reputation and booking contacts around New England.

Stylistic elements that are most important to us include:

- An interest in blues AND metal; more specifically the fusing of the two sounds.
- Solid rhythm AND lead skills. You need to be able to contribute both fast, heavy, tight palm-muted riffing and competent, tasteful leads. One or the other is not enough, and both guitarists will share rhythm and lead responsibilities.
- Interest and ability to improvise and contribute to song-writing with a jam-oriented style (we do our best work by getting in a room and just playing, letting the songs come together organically).
- Ability to both take direction when necessary AND contribute your own ideas.
- High level of energy and a good stage presence.

If you are interested in auditioning or want to know more about us, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Thanks.
You may have just paid 70$ but you essentially worked your ass off for Emergenza to rake in the dough. AND if you worked just as hard without Emergenza or Sonicbids you'd get the same results and opportunities which is more the point. That if you're a band that works your ass off you don't need these scammy pay to play companies taking your dough and you don't let them transform the unsigned/independent/local music scene into a pyramid scheme.

RE: ALL BANDS MUST READ! (Everywhere)

I posted this earlier this week and I saw some people commented about it in a positive way. Take one more step and post this on another message board or anywhere bands go online. The most we post this the better we are to make people aware of how awful this company is. I got contacted by there rep recently who told me that I know nothing about the music business and that he can see why I haven't done much with my band. I came back to him with facts of why he is wrong only to get a response back from him that said he would rather not respond to me with proof of how he has helped bands because it's not worth his time.

Yes this is true but I worked in radio for a long time and will tell you this. When we received those comps from them, we threw them out.

If you ever get approached by one of these company just turn away.

My band has recently started playing out and we've got gigs setup, but it's become clear that having multiple bands to offer is a big advantage. Having more people working hard to find good venues and gigs can only help in the search for better shows. At the very least, this could be a good exercise in networking with local musicians. For a little background, our group is an 5-piece rock/reggae/funk/jazz band in our 20s and 30s and we've already proven to be versatile enough to play to a variety of crowds. If interested, shoot me an email and we can get into details. Please have samples.

I'm a 27 year old male looking to join a cover band that plays are bars and parties - fun covers, the kind that gets the crowd moving. I don't have much in vocals, but I'm working on it and in the near future I'd like to provide a little bit of backup and after that a song or two. What I lack in vocals I'll make up in drive and determination. I'll still keep the drive and determination when I get some chops! If there's something I don't know, I'll do my best to learn it.

I have about 3 years experience with a working band, and about 20 years experience in music overall. I have my own equipment and transportation. For better or for worse, I'm not a 30 pedal 6 guitar kind of musician, more of a let's have fun and blow everyone's socks off kind of musician.

I'm hoping to do 1-2 gigs a month and practice at home with an occasional full band practice here or there, and I'm completely open to other schedules. I work during the day so nighttime rehearsals are best.

Drop me a line!

Not a tribute band ( not dressing to look like anyone but ourselves ) I'm a drummer, can fake my way on bass and guitar, incredibly shaky vocals,so if you can sing that's cool.Hopefully this will start with people who really like Cheap Trick, think it would be cool to play their songs with others rather than sitting at home,we'll get a good song list going (looking to play mostly the heavier, rock side of CT),the songs sound tight,we play parties if we can,be up and rolling, playing anywhere we can by summer. This is being done for fun first and foremost, and whatever comes from it is gravy.I have a place to play, but it would be all headset playing or moderate level playing right now,I have electronic/acoustic drums. C'mon over, smoke a bone and let's play "Hello There".

The first two are my main influances for singing style (leaning more towards Dexter Holland), but lyrically (and musically) influanced by the rest of the bands listed as well as the first two.
