Testimonials:

I have worked with Joe Della Penna for over
five years now, and he is the kind of pianist any
vocalist would like to have. As a vocal coach he is
both very knowledgeable and always encouraging. Joe is
the best accompanist I have ever worked with, which
allows me to give the best performance I can whenever
we perform together.

Ellen Bagley, Vocalist

"It is one of life's pleasures to work with Joe Della Penna as my
accompanist. Joe is everything a vocalist could hope for: he seems to follow my
every breath, knowing when to push forward and when to pull back in his
accompaniment. He offers creative ideas for how to improve a rendition of a song and - hugely important - he listens to my ideas and willingly incorporates
them. The depth and breadth of his musical knowledge and expertise are astounding. He is capable of playing any genre of music - from pop to musical comedy to (of course) jazz. Every time I have worked with Joe, the audience has loved his work. You will, too!"

Songwriting 101 with Janet Feld
Wednesdays [8:00 pm] Jan. 13, 20, 27, Feb. 3, 10, 17
$132 nonmembers / $108 Passim members

If you're not only drawn to listen to music but have also to play it, you're a songwriter; if you've never written a song before it's only because your songwriting "faucet" hasn't been opened yet. Opening your faucet is what this class is all about. Each week we will do specific, simple exercises that keep your pen moving and take the mystery out of writing songs. You'll also learn about basic song structure, creating melodies and simple music theory (the stuff you might feel like you'd have to study at a music school for hundreds of years to understand - thankfully, this is not so!). Please bring paper and a writing utensil.

"What a wonderfully creative experience! I have already written 2 songs, and I am feeling so much more confident that what I am writing is interesting. You are such a great teacher Janet. You always make something that can be vulnerable a very calming, comfortable and safe environment…most importantly….Fun! You have a true gift. Thank you for sharing it with me!" Beginning Music Theory with Tavis Linsin
Thursdays [6:30 pm] Jan. 14, 21, 28, Feb. 4, 11
$110 nonmembers / $90 members

This course is open to everyone with an interest in music and a curiosity about music theory. The class is about understanding patterns in music. Beethoven understood them, Jimi Hendrix understood them, Elvis understood them - shouldn't you?
In this class you will learn about some of the basic ‘building blocks’ of music. In the comfort of your own home you will be able to use those building blocks to better understand your instrument (if you have one), advance your writing (if you’d like to write songs) and develop a keener ear for the music you’ve been listening to your whole life.
This class has no prerequisites and all interested are encouraged to attend. It is a beginning-level course and those with prior music theory training should seek a more advanced class.

Experienced professional violinist available for paying gigs and recording sessions. I have chops, excellent reading skills, and most important, can improvise in a variety of styles. I'm not just some classical violinist who dabbles in other musical genres and thinks they've figured this improv thing out because they can play over some modal tune that never changes key. I am totally comfortable playing over any kind of chart including bebop and beyond. I've played in jazz, rock and blues bands since I was a teen, which by the way was a LONG time ago. I say this because I am not at the stage in my life where I want to join or start a new band. Sorry you starry eyed dreamers; been there, done that. But if you're an accomplished musician with an ongoing gigging group, or if you just want to add some swingin', wailin' violin to a recorded track, please get in touch. Thanks for looking, and best of luck to everyone trying to make good music and a reasonable living from it.

**GIG Alert** Anyone who wishes to hear me perform live should come to Bullfinchs on Sunday, Jan. 3 for a JAZZ Brunch. I'll be playing there from 11-2:30 with my trio: Steve Heck-keyboard & vocals, and Todd Baker-bass. www.bullfinchs.com 730 Boston post Rd., Rt. 20, Sudbury, MA. 978-443-4094, Reservations recommended

Production/Mixing: Darkwave * Shoegaze * Dreampop * Ethereal * Ambient (Boston / NYC / around)

Hello. I'm a Producer, Arranger, Recording and Mix Engineer offering skilled services for musicians, bands, and projects. I've worked extensively with a wide range of clients and styles from low budget lo-fi indie through folk, roots, celt and world folk, punk, hard rock and metal, trip hop, electro and techno, dance music, smart pop, psych, glam, theatrical and operatic rock, soul, classical, and major-label-flavored big budget slick pop...

But out of that, it's the "mystery and depth" areas around and related to darkwave, shoegaze, dreampop, ethereal, ambient, goth, and art rock that I'm often sought out for. I have a particular fondness and deft touch for textural, moody, sensual, and atmospheric music.

25 years experience as a full time musician, producer and engineer, composer, performer, instructor. Too many credits to list, but some highlights pertinent here: I was half of The Moors (Castle von Buhler, Hyperium, Forest of the Fae / Dark Symphonies) and also produced and engineered the highly acclaimed album, which is considered a classic and milestone in the darkwave/celt/pagan genre. Album is still selling steadily 10+ years later, still has an international cult following. Produced the Steamy Bohemians CD, which while not very gothy is certainly arty, smarty, and subversive. They get much buzz and love. Have been working as a steady collaborator/composer/producer for a very long time with Garvy J (Elevator Drops, solo, Rentals, Adam Green, Tracy Bonham etc.). Co-wrote, arranged, produced, pixie dusted a large amount on his upcoming solo album. Plus the long running ambient/brainwave/sacred math/sacred sound/experimental project we roll. Led the band Valhalla Kittens, theatrical art glam to the max. On and off, I play fretless guitars and textures and loops for Sarah Rabdau's live show, and supplied highly regarded textural fretless guitar tracks on her new album. Provided spooky textures, effects treatments, additional production, and Mastering for Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toy's most recent releases, which is some of the best new post-darkwave to come out of Boston in recent times. Even did a little work with Devo a few months back, also fun.

Great toolkit on hand ready to go. All the computer audio based goodies you'd need (cool plugs galore, pro tools etc., great converters), plus more importantly a great hand picked selection of vintage/classic rack hardware delays, reverbs, atmospheric effects, tape delays, spring reverbs, vintage EQ, compression, analog synths. Dripping with mystery vibe in a way that no plugins can touch, seriously. British board, many tape machines, mixing can be hybrid, ITB, OTB, to tape, whatever you need.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Alot of the influenced I'm feeling right now are improv/jam, bluegrass/traditional/folk, acoustic, blues, raw psychedelic electric, crazy percussion (multiple kits/drum types, drum circles, yadi ya), gongs, bells, crystals, synth/sample/whatever. Really whatever, I'm down with it all.. I'll do anything from an acoustic bluegrass trio to a large electric rock band, and whatever in between.
I think more ideally I am looking to find real musicians who are knowledgable, passionate and driven. Hopefully you have some sort of vision and direction. Also you need to be open minded, creative and willing to experiment.

>>> Guitar Lessons (Boston)

"If you have the opportunity to take guitar lessons from Tony Savarino, run, don’t walk, to his studio in South Boston. My guitar playing was stuck in a rut. That is until I met Tony Savarino. I really turned the corner in terms of my guitar playing after only a few lessons with Tony.
He is great teacher with patience and a sense of humor.
Tony is a wealth of guitar knowledge and you will benefit immensely from his tutelage. He is patient and breaks things down into understandable compartments of knowledge. At one point his advice to me was, “Just Zen out on my lesson and you will learn it.” I use that advice every time I pick up the guitar. He is the poet-warrior. He is the Shaolin monk of guitar teachers. He taught me to be patient with myself and learn the instrument. When armed with his sage advice, his patient teaching style, and his immense knowledge you will conquer your guitar." - John J. Leonard, CPA, MBA

http://www.tonysavarino.com

I have appeared in The Boston Globe, The Boston Phoenix, The Noise (Winner Of The 2004 & 2005 Noise Poll for Boston's Best Guitarist), Guitar World, and Guitar Player For The Practicing Musician.

Lessons are taught in South Boston/ Fort Point close to the South Station T stop.
learn

Harmony (theory, chord construction, reharm techniques, sub V's, modal ideas)
Ear training (through song transcription and excersises)
Songwriting (harmoinc and melodic development, lyric writing and arranging)
Fretboard mechanics (mastery of the fretboard)
and more

Here is what some of My students have said:

"When I came to Tony I couldn't play anything. After
couple months of lessons with him my playing and
skills improved tremendously. He is very patient with
a great sense of humor and always finds ways to
motivate me when I have hard time playing a lick. Tony
not only helped me improve my playing skill and taught
me music theory but showed me how all the things I
learned so far fit together. He is a great guitar
teacher and much fun to work with." - Stefan Dragnev

"If you're looking for an instructor who will take you to the next level based on where you are musically, Tony is your man, he has a great talent for identifying and teaching you what you need to get where you want to go." - Dave Yanolis

"I was playing guitar like s&*t, and everyone knew it. I was ham-fisted,
and a drunkard to boot. Then I went to Tony, with this challenge:
teach me to play guitar, or I'll eat feces. For short money, he has - by
god - taught me to play guitar, and saved me from eating feces. I love
Tony." - Moon Mullins

"I've been playing guitar for years and had been in the same ruts, using the same patterns for most of that time. Tony listened to where i wanted to go and what i hoped to change and then gave me the tools I needed to get there. From simple exercises to build accuracy, to organizing the teaching of scales and chords in a way that created a new way to look at the fretboard as a whole, I can say that i've come further in the short time i've been working with Tony than i did for years before. He not only shows you what you need but teaches you the fundamentals that you can use to continue to develop and improve on your own as well." - Dave M.

"When you take lessons with Tony, you're not just taught chords so you can play a Van Halen or a Nirvana riff. You're taught the fundamentals in a way that you become familiar, almost in tune with your guitar. If you find any other knucklehead that can do that, I'll pay for your lessons. Actually, I won't, but you should take lessons with Tony anyway. He's that good." - Jessica Green

"Tony kicks the most ass of any guitar teacher out there. He is patient and encouraging, but in no time will have you playing things you didn't think you could play. He will give you a good music foundation while letting you learn the music you like the most. If you're serious about playing guitar, he's the man." - Ami E Albernaz

"I have been taking lessons from Tony for about 4 months now, and to say I have gone far beyond what I expected would be an understatement. He seems to have an innate feel for what the student is capable of, then reaches just beyond, to get the most from you...... I have not had one lesson where I did not come away feeling that I achieved something..." - Alan D.

"I've studied under four different guitar teachers and Tony is the first one that's been able to clearly explain how the different parts - key signature, chord progressions, scale patterns, picking technique - all fit together. My first lesson was six weeks ago and the guys in my band have already noticed a huge difference." - Glen Goland

"I have been going to Tony for lessons since this past spring and my playing has improved tremendously. He has helped me work on my left hand technique, improve my picking, introduced me to new approaches to playing various types of licks, and has helped me with my approach to learning other artist's songs. On top of that, Tony is an excellent teacher, an amazing player, and extremely easy to get along and work with" -David Schwartz

"Tony is a wonderful teacher. I've only been taking lessons with him for three months, and had never touched a guitar before - now I'm starting to play my favorite songs! Not only do I learn the techniques and theory, but also how to develop an ear for the music, which is amazing, considering I had always thought I was tone-deaf. Tony keeps me motivated; he is patient, yet perceptively authoriative. Plus, his irresistible Sicilian wit makes the whole thing so much fun!" - Anneke Boese

Looking for Metal Guitarist!! (New England)

Looking for a kick ass metal guitar player for metal band.

The band was originally a studio band, but because of the success with this project , it is time to go live! The band has a world wide fan base and following, it has been written about in several books and publications, and it has it's own record label which covers many of the recording, distribution, artwork, cd duplication costs, so recording is free! So this is not a project that you have to start from scratch, the foundation is already there.

So far the band has many influences such as Children of bodom, Slayer, Arch Enemy, Megadeth, Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, Sonata Arctica, Iced Earth, Stratovarius, and many more. This band is open to other influences, as it only makes the music better!

This is a female fronted band, with female who sings/and screams. The studio band was based out of the New england area, as many of the musicians we worked with were in Mass, Conn, and RI.

Looking to finish the album, 4 songs are done, but another 4-5 songs need to be written with the guitar player that we are going live with, which would be you!

Future plans are: Switch record labels for better support which will be done once we finish this album, play live shows as soon as possible, and tour. Looking for serious interest, someone who is dedicated in being able to follow through and have passion for the music they are playing.

Thank you!

Hello, my band just recently broke up. I'm 18 looking for a bassist and songwriting partner (ala Lennon/McCartney).
I play rhythm guitar and sing (I can also play other stuff) and I have a bunch of finished songs recorded and some unfinished recordings.
Looking to start with a bassist and build on from there. I have a great place to rehearse with drums, PA, guitar amp, and a great bass amp.
I'm really only looking for you to be like 16-19 area I guess. I am dead serious about and willing to do anything to make it big. So you must be to or just forget it.

Influences include The Beatles, The Who, Steely Dan, KISS, Zeppelin, and so on. Not into too much modern stuff. I want a band that doesn't fall into the metal or pop trappings.
Just great rock music with a great show. This band is/will be called Inches In Falling. I've already designed and have copyright for the logo.

Buttcheese Charlie and The Dingleberries are in search of a four string fiddle player. We need someone who can take up our bottom end. We're an established band that have been together for about five years now. We originally come from Wisconsin. For the first three years we called ourselves The Anal Intruders. When we moved up here we got a new singer and changed our name. Our style of music can't be narrowed down to one specific genre. Only because it contains elements of punk, rockabilly, southern rock, hardcore, and thrash with a touch of gothic and psychedlic thrown in the mix. The best way to describe us would be if you threw The Stooges,The Sex Pistols,Nirvana,The Cramps,The Blasters,Tito and Tarantula,Lynyrd Skynyrd,Ted Nugent,Pantera,Metallica,Marilyn Manson, and the Doors all in a pot. We certainly have a sound of our own. We're all pretty much fucked up most of the time. So if you don't like to smoke weed and drink you won't want to be around us. We all live together. We rent a house. We work suck ass jobs during the day and party and rehearse most of the night. We're been known to have some really awesome orgies. I shit you not. We're not posers. We live it. If you can't handle that kind of lifestyle then please don't bother responding. We've had some interest from a couple of labels. But they're smaller ones and they wouldn't be able to promote us the way we want. We're being patient and holding out until we get approached by the right label. As soon as we get a bassist we'll start recording again. We have a really nice studio set up here at the house. We're very serious about our music and we're only looking for a serious minded person who would be willing to make a commitment. As I said,we rehearse pretty much every night. The ideal situation would be if you moved in here with us. But that's not etched in stone. But keep that in mind. The only other requirement are,is that you're not a nerd or a geek. We're very much into how we look. Whether or not you like that, that superficiality is a part of the music business. The only other thing is age. We're all between the ages of 27-36. You have to be over 21 and not older than 36. The last thing is,we prefer a guy. If you're a chick, then you better be smokin hot. I'm talkin porn star hot,and if you are that hot, then you better be willing to put out.

We are: drummer, bassist, guitarist and female fronted lead vocals. We need to add a second guitarist who can play rhythm or trade off with rhythms/leads - backing vocals a must. Alternately, we would work with a keys player with vocal ability. Repertoire is rock/pop covers, everything from Beatles to Green Day and everything in between. Goal is to gig out once a month. We're all in our 40's and very experienced. Band rehearses in a great, comfy, safe, free space in Needham at our drummer's home. IF YOU REPLY PLEASE SEND SOUND CLIPS - NO REPLIES WITHOUT SOUND SAMPLES OR A LINK THAT GOES TO A SITE WHERE WE CAN HEAR YOUR PLAYING/SINGING. WE WILL PROVIDE THE SAME. NO SOLICITATIONS FOR OPEN MICs!
Hey guys im looking for anyone who has a space where me and my Band can practice during the week and on the weekends. Where not a Heavy Metal band but we can still create alot of noise so the neighbors will have to be cool or more likely the place will have to be kind of secluded. Im looking to pay about $400-$500 for rent but can be a little flexible on either end. Im looking for this place to be in one of the following towns. Walpole,Norwood,Wrentham,Norfolk,Franklin,Plainville,Brighton,Dedham,Allston,Randolph,Braintree,Brockton,Quincy. We have paying gigs so there will be no problem paying the rent on time and we will be CLEAN and RESPONSIBLE with the place given to us. I would like to leave some equipment there so im not looking to share a space with anyone else. If you can help us out PLEASE get back to me ive been looking for a while now but just cant seem to have any luck. So again ill appreciate any help at all.

Join us for another rousing week of music at The Savant Project.
Tuesday Night

This week, we''re asking people to prepare a Beatles song to perform. Of course, we want you to play original songs also. And if you don't know any beatles songs, that is cool, too. But if you can squeak one out, that would be great.

There will be no feature act this week. Sign up is at 9pm. We'll begin between 9:15 and 9:30.

As always, latecomers are welcome, but if nobody is there at 11, the bar will close for the evening, so come by 10 to keep us awake.

The Savant Project is located at 1625 Tremont St in Brigham Circle.

Bass player and Drummer Looking for Band

We are drums and bass looking for a singer, lead guitarist, and keyboardist (back up vocals are a plus) with creative writing skills. We want to focus on originals but also want to include covers to ensure getting paid gigs. We wanna put together a super band that writes good songs with strong hooks and strong, catchy choruses ! Some songs could turn out more in the mainstream rock - bluesy area , and other songs could turn out more in the hard rock field - what ever sounds and feels good ! ( Like influences listed below). But every song should have good energy. For that we are looking for great, experienced musicians who can really play, understand music and are determined to succeed !

We are a strong rhythm section and have been in a successful original band playing New England and Europe as well as in other cover bands. We are very experienced playing music and working with other musicians. We also have excellent stage precence. Our influences are The Beatles, The Who, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Tom Petty, AC/DC, Def Leppard, Foreigner, Cheap Trick, Jet, The Sweet, Elton John, The Ramones as well as Southern Rock and Blues.

Once the band is complete we are determined to take this band as far as possible. We live for music as music lives for us. We want to put together a band that gets along really well and composes great music. We know this is hard to find but we know that there are people out there who are looking for the same thing as us.

NO EGOS, DRUG OR ALCOHOL PROBLEMS PLEASE!!

Interested musicians must be team players, have a professional attitude, own equipment and transportation.

If you want to do some serious rocking and have a lot of fun, contact us!

2 one hour voice lessons for ½ price! ...IF you qualify (Allston-Brighton)

So here’s the deal. I'm a voice teacher who gets $40 per hour for a lesson and that's great. I love doing it. I'm friendly, supportive, but demanding (in a nice way).

But I'm looking for a very special kind of student. Maybe you or a friend or relative of yours, that I'd coach for 2 half-price lessons ($20) just for the joy of having a great student. The kind who has a voice with potential, who wants to be a singer really BAD and is willing to work hard at it.

So, what are the qualifications?

1. You have to have, or believe you have, some kind of gift for singing that can be developed into a voice that people want to pay money to hear.

2. If you already have a voice that people are paying to hear you have to want to take your singing to the next level.

3. It would be nice if you’ve had voice coaching in the past. Why? I like the challenge of being compared to other voice coaches...because I honestly think there's a lot of them out there that aren't that good when it comes to pop/soul/rock/blues/jazz/country, etc.

4. A flexible schedule is helpful. Weekdays up to 2pm are best for me. But for the right person I'd fit something in...even on a weekend. (Showing up, and showing up on time is important...missing a lesson without calling ahead means you’re dropped...don't mean to be harsh but I want students who take their singing as seriously as I do.)

5. You want to be coached on anything but opera or show tunes...no offense intended because I love show tunes...it's just that there are already a lot of good teachers out there for that.

6. And now the BIG one - you actually have to have the MOTIVATION to devote the time necessary to practicing. That's my definition of someone who wants to sing. Practicing less than what’s needed to me is someone who WISHES they could sing...not someone who WANTS to sing.

If you think this might work for you here are some good free video voice lessons that cover the basics so if we work together we can skip this stuff and hit the road running. The dude is Mark Black and he keeps it pretty simple and straight forward. http://www.expertvillage.com/interviews/voice-lessons.htm

Another good resource is the free lessons by Mark Baxter at
http://www.voicelesson.com/html/lessons/free_lessons.htm These aren't video, they're written, but they are really good and maybe more for you advanced singers out there. Let me know what you think of them.

Maybe the best of all the internet resources is called The Voice Council Forum which is a great place to communicate with professional and aspiring singers and voice teachers about improving their craft with anything that has to do with singing. The link is http://forums.voicecouncil.com/ There are a lot of people who know a lot of stuff on this site and they share their experiences on every aspect of singing you can imagine. There's a corporate connection for stuff that's available for sale but you can take it or leave it...there's no requirement to buy anything.

For you indie rock singers that are big into screaming and worry about how to keep it from ruining your voice, here's a great link to Melissa Cross who is called the "Queen of Scream"

http://www.voicecouncil.com/Councils/NorthAmerica/MelissaCross.aspx

One last thing...I don't accept students who are having any kind of health issue with their voice that prevents them from putting in the full practice time. For that I recommend Jimi Zimmardi at www.thehealthyvoice.com who is a voice therapist affiliated with specialists at Mass General's Ear, Nose and Throat department and who is conveniently located in Watertown.

Ok...that's about it. Hope to hear from someone.

Hey folks

I've been a performer for over 10 years, but mainly as an instrumentalist, with some added experience co-writing, arranging, performing, and managing live and studio projects. I'm now entering the realm of "solo" songwriting and would love to take my little pop sketches to the next level. The goal: to rehearse and record a six-song album within six months.

Check out my tunes, and if you like them, email me. I am willing to pay the right people, but I want musicians who genuinely dig the tunes and want to put their own stamp on them.

Musical direction: Michael Jackson, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley....
(Note: excuse the out-of-tune vocals. They're just to map out the melodic ideas.)

I am a very good player with much experience in Jazz, Reggae, R&B and World music working situations. I am looking for situations that satisfy creative and financial needs in the short and long term. I am a team player willing to work on things, but I do not perform for free. Not interested in cover bands or no-soul endeavors. It begins to look like (quality) live music is becoming extinct? I hope not! I can guarantee adding a heavy supply of flavor to any project I am involved in. Drop a note if your project needs a serious horn. Thanks for reading.

Hello,
I hope YOU are the one who has prepared their chops on the keyboards and warmed up for an occasional vocal practice. If so then maybe this is the time to meet the rest of the Band.

This is a highly anticipated band named TRIAL BY FIRE. It's a Journey Tribute Band - Journey done right. We each have the Gear, the Style and the Sound of the members of Journey. Especially our Singer who has the Sound or I've also have heard it put as "The Voice" of Journey. He's accomplished. We welcome with open arms any keyboard player who has an ear and a voice for harmonies. We are searching for a talented Keyboard Player/Vocalist that has the ability to perform All the Journey hits from the early rockers, to some of the newer music.
The Clubs that we have played have given us a great response and praise. It's also Our time to move on and into the larger venues for a larger audience. We have been directed to an influencial Entertainment Manager/ Agency. He is based in New England.
So here I have listed what Our Band is looking for and some of what we are offering to a Keyboardist/vocalist who can deliver Journey the right way, with energy.

We are going to shoot for auditions over the next few weekends. Maybe more depending on response. This is extended due to the Holiday timing. If you think that you might be interested, check out the sound we have. www.myspace.com/trialbyfiretribute Private WebSite Due out. Try out for the band. For a couple of hours on a Sat or Sun you won't be disappointed. Above all else, have a good time.

Bass Player Needed (style of Radiohead, U2, Coldplay, etc..)

Satellites Fall is looking for a talented bass player. Our influences include Radiohead, U2, Coldplay, Killers, etc. Our sound is somewhere in there with Snow Patrol and with some rock acts like Foo Fighters. It's hard to label yourself so we made a link just for bass players to check out. http://www.satellitesfall.com/bass.html - Please take a few seconds to check it out and listen to a few different tracks since some are more rock and others can be synth driven with open space. We tend to have a mix of British rock/pop and American rock sound.

We are looking for someone that can get excited about the sound and developing the material. Chemistry is just as important as talent to us. A sense of humor goes a long way. Must have reliable transportation, decent equipment, and availability in your schedule to practice a few days a week. NO DRUGS. We also prefer a non-smoker just so we don't have to break every 45 minutes for you. A few of us will have drinks but we are not a booze band by any means. We are in our early 30's and are looking to bring in someone a bit younger so we don't become a band of old men. No offense if you are older but we would ideally like this candidate to be younger than 30. This is an arbitrary number and too young tends to be not so mature (please get in touch if you are younger but have a good head on your shoulders). If you are older and have a good look to you than get in touch.

We are not listing an email here because when we do we get too much spam. It is listed on the page we created for potential bassists, as well as our main site and myspace. You can also use the contact that Craigslist provides which is linked to our email.

Thank you and we looking forward to getting together!

STARTING BLUES BAND NEED LEAD SINGER (CARVER, MA.)

I am a Bassist, 52 yrs. young, looking for a competent, experienced LEAD SINGER (male or female) in the Carver, Ma. area , interested in starting up a classic blues band. I already have a guitarist and drummer (and possibly a keyboard player) that are ready to play. I have a heated, comfortable practice space in Carver.

A FEW SONG IDEAS: Thrill is gone (BB King), Help the poor (BB King), Pretty woman (Albert King), Crossroads (Cream), Before you accuse me (Clapton), Roadhouse blues (Doors), Stormy Monday (T-Bone Walker), Mustang Sally (Wilson Pickett), Red house (Hendrix) Move it on over (Thorogood), Mojo' workin (Muddy waters) to name a few.

I also like upbeat shuffle blues tunes along with some of the older heavy British blues songs like Communication breakdown (Led Zeppelin), Sunshine of your love (Cream). A good variety of slower and faster songs would be great. Maybe add a harp player down the line! Could be alot of fun.. I would like to practice 1 day per week on Sat. or Sun. afternoon and eventually gig once or twice a month.

Would like to get together next Sunday, December 27th and jam. If you have any song mp3s or links to your songs, please forward them to me. Serious inquiries only please.

Here's a link to my myspace page if you would like to check it out. There are a variety of rough demos of me singing and playing to listen to. www.myspace.com/jaym1957

If interested contact Jay. Thanks.

www.myspace.com/culpritpolicy

We're an original band that practices in Allston (indie/rock/progressive according to our myspace). We just finished a DIY CD, have a full set list, and a handful of new songs we're working on. As soon as we can find a new bassist, we'd like to start booking some more shows right away.

We're looking for someone who:
- clicks with our music and us
- is technically good on bass
- can contribute creatively to new songs
- will be able to learn our current songs for shows
- can pay $70/mo. practice space rent
- has decent, ready-to-go gear
- is cool but reliable
- doesn't smell like poo

If you have recordings, those are preferable - send 'em along. Check out our myspace page and let us know if you're interested...

Thanks,
