The new Distortion III joins the ranks of MXR classics—such as the Phase 90 and Dyna Comp—¯setting a new benchmark in distortion tone and quality. Developed from the ground up using carefully selected components, the D-III delivers everything from sweet singing overdrive to massive distortion crunch! It's natural and amp-like distortion is versatile enough to appeal to any playing style and transparent enough to let your guitar's personality shine through. Like all MXR pedals, the Distortion III features a heavy-duty casing, switch and jacks for a lifetime of use.

Reduced! 1904 Steinway upright piano (Southborough) $4200

1904 Steinway Model K upright piano

Here’s an opportunity to own a piano with some musical history. This vintage instrument was owned by a European composer who wrote his last 10 years of music on this piano including various songs, quartets and even some symphonic works. Sadly we need to part with this piece of family history.

The piano is a Steinway Model K with a mahogany case. It measures 52” high by 58” wide by 27” deep and has a full baby grand sound board. Keys are genuine ivory.

The action was partially rebuilt in 1982 with new felts, hammers and dampers. All other parts of the action are original. There are no known cracks in the soundboard, and the piano has tight tuning pins, so holds tunings well. Like other Steinways this age, it needs to be played more frequently than I’ve been able! The case is in good condition and I’m sure it could be refinished to like-new.

This piano has a BIG sound, especially in the lower registers, and can be a joy to play.

Specifications: Serial number is: 112897, and was built in 1904.

http://www.steinway.com/steinway/specs/model_k.shtml

Please note: This piano weighs 600 pounds, and will need to be professionally moved.

Serious local inquiries only.

Schecter Blackjack C-1 Diamond series. I've had this for a couple years. String-thru bridge, Seymour Duncan pickups (JB and 59, NOT "DUNCAN DESIGNED") Comes with generic hardcase. This guitar crushes. Guitar is in great condition, only thing wrong is a couple small scratches on surface as well as pick swirl and pickup selector cap is missing. Does not affect playability. $350 or TRADE? (Older guitars with tremolos, older tube combos, other toys?)

More deets:
The Blackjack C-1 electric guitar is a heavy hitter and the perfect tool for laying down a deep crunch or biting solo. Its set-neck construction and string-thru bridge enhance the resonance and sustain of its mahogany body, and the 25-1/2" scale plus Seymour Duncan humbuckers give it a strong, crushing tone. The 3-way switch gives you tons of tonal flexibility. Heavy string tension lets you really dig in. The Schecter Blackjack C-1's sleek black gloss finish and black chrome hardware are accented by gray pearl binding.

I've decided to sell my '66 Fender Jaguar reissue. Made in Japan. This year is the only year they've reissued the specific '66. It has a bound fretboard with block inlays, looks very sharp. The color is a nice deep candy apple red. These are hard to find as well. It's in mint condition with the plastic still on the pickguard. The only reason I'm selling it is to get an acoustic instead. The selling price on these was $1,250 with no bag or case. I've put it out for $950 with a deluxe tweed gig bag. The guitar sounds great for surf, rock, etc. Thanks for looking.

Named "Bad Horsie" after a Steve Vai song of the same name, the guitar features a "Rock Mirror" finish with matching mirror pickguard. The new model also features the signature JEM appointments of a "Monkey Grip" handle carved into the basswood body and a scooped tremolo cavity so pitches can be raised as well as lowered with the tremolo arm.

Rolland TD-V6 drum set. Sounds and looks great! Never left the house or played out. You get everything in the picture including the Pearl bass pedal. The TD V6 has 64 voices and 99 different drum kits. The set has 170 preset songs and 100 user songs. The set has the ability to record music for playback and it has a 6 part sequencer. Near perfect condition with one flaw in the stands right bottom leg, it is cracked and doesn't stay in tight, basically it is just a pain when moving it around but can easily be fixed. This does not change or alter the sound in any way. I am posting a picture of the one flaw below along with some others...

I bought this a few years ago for $2200 and barely used it. I am asking for B/O. Serious inquiries only please. Thanks!

This guitar is a beautiful and rare guitar in mint condition.

This (est.) 1994 Washburn SBF-80 is a chambered body (which means it has hollow portions in it for a fuller sound) with a rosewood neck and bridge, 22 frets, pearl slotted diamond inlays, I got this guitar from a professor at the Berklee College of Music, so you know it has been kept in good condition. This guitar has a beautiful sound with a low action with a fantastic set-neck for a fuller tone. Though it may not seem it has any pickups, it does, and it's in the rosewood bridge.

I am only getting rid of this guitar because I only play acoustic and this guitar needs someone to give it some more love.
I am selling for $450 O.B.O.

Fender Road Worn 60s Relic Aged Strat 60's Stratocaster Roadworn

The Road Worn series made by Fender really captures the feel of a played in guitar. The neck is comfortable and easy to play. The action is excellent and the neck is straight. The pickups are hot tex-mex pickups.and 6105 frets. The pickups sound great and are very versatile. A great sounding and playing guitar. This one was recently set up and intonated, plays much better than anyone hanging in a store. Comes with gig bag and all the paperwork you'd get when buying new. I have too many guitars and don't play enough to justify having them hang around. The pictures do not do this guitar justice. This guitar is made by Fender, it is not a parts guitar. Please no trades.
Regards,
this is a RELIC telecaster made of all the best quality parts: THIS IS NOT A "TAKE OUT THE SANDER DO IT YOURSELF JOB"! THIS RIVALS...NO IS BETTER THAN THE FENDER CUTOM SHOP TELES. YOU WILL LOVE THIS TELE! IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD A REAL 50'S 60'S OR EVEN A 70'S TELE OR FENDER CUSTOM SHOP, CHECK THIS ONE OUT. YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED.

BODY: Made of light weight ash, only 3lbs 9oz. purchased from, painted and aged by Mark Jenny http://www.mjtagedfinishes.com/ with 100% Nitro. Nice thin coat to allow the body to breathe for a better sound. You really need to see this in person to appreciate the checking on this body. Mark does an outstanding job!

NECK: Made by Allparts, width at nut 1 5/8", radius 7.25", rosewood fingerboard, slightly rolled edges, 21 frets, vintage tall frets, slight V to C shape, extremely comfortable to play, not too chunky, pretty much on the medium side. aged by http://www.grguitars.com/.

BRIDGE: Fender Pat. Pend. with compensated saddles for better intonation.

JACK: Electrosocket, much more reliable.

PICKUPS: Lindy Fralin 50's stock pickups. These are the best Telecaster pickups in my opinion. Articulate, punchy, twanging, rocking', full sounding.

CONTROL ASSEMBLY: Purchasd from Mojo tone. Controls are set up so when you turn down the volume the tone stays the same.

TUNERS: Gotoh Kluson style aged.

This guitar plays extremely well ands sounds fantastic. No buzzing, professionally set up and intonated. If you're looking for an aged telecaster that has that vintage look, feel and sound and plenty of mojo this is it!!! Comes with a 60's/70"s style rectangular hardshell case.

You will not be dissapointed. Relics telecasters from the Fender customshop and many of the boutique makers are going for anywhere between $1800 and $4000.00 They are getting out of control. Get this guitar for a fraction of the price. I will ship to contintental US only if you have a Paypal account. E-mail if you need more pictures.

Regards,
John

NEW Handmade VIOLIN w/Bow & Case--GREAT Value!! (Easton) $495

So the new school year has started and your young violinist has grown a lot this summer. It's time for a full size violin. So where do you go? The all purpose music store has a few violins. Unfortunately, nobody there knows anything about them. When you ask the sales person to play it for you, he can't even tune it and certainly can't answer your questions regarding set up. So you head off to the dedicated violin shop, located in some pricey real estate area and filled with instruments costing $25,000 and MORE! They have a few entry level violins but are priced starting from at least $1,200 when you factor in a bow and case. Finally, you check out the internet. Wow, lots of violin outfits for $200 or LESS! Here on craigslist there are even a few for only $75. The problem with buying one of those shiny hard laquer finished violins is that the construction is so bad that the neck angle is wrong and the bridge and soundpost are horrendously cut. The fingerboard which is supposed to be made from ebony, is often some unknown wood painted black and has enough bumps and dips that even Heifetz wouldn't have been able to play it in tune!

Fortunately, I have a rational and price effective option for you. I am a professional violinist and teacher who when asked to help his sister find that first fullsize violin for her daughter, found that the choices were either pricey or extremely poor quality. I started to do research, and found that I could buy high quality handmade violins from China. It is important to note that there are an extremely wide range of violins coming from China. There are the poor quality factory made instruments that I described earlier, [often labeled with names like "Cremona, Palatino, Cecilio"]and there are some of the nicest handmade violins for the money that can be found anywhere in the world. These latter violins are the ones that I buy. They are made from quality tonewoods and the maple back and ribs have nicely defined flame that is enhanced by a beautifully applied and hand rubbed varnish that allows the wood to vibrate. The hard laquer finished factory instruments most often produce a small, overly bright tone because the wood is too thick and can't vibrate easily.

Next, I have an expert violin maker in the USA set them up. This means that he planes the fingerboard and adjusts the nut for perfect intonation and easy shifting. He checks that the tuning pegs neither stick nor slip. Finally he cuts a new top quality bridge and soundpost and fits the violin with pro quality strings. [If you were to buy one of those cheap factory violins and have this done it would cost you more than the violin itself!] The end result is a violin that plays beautifully, producing a tone far above what you would expect from such a reasonably priced instrument. I have an excellent selection of these violins, all including a quality brazilwood, pernambuco or carbonfiber bow and a nice oblong violin case. It is importantant to address a common misconception that violins from China are inferior to their European counterparts. While of course the greatest violins ever made came from Italy, France ,Germany, etc, today the best violins in the sub $3,000 price range are from China. Most of the European made violins in this category are very poorly made factory instrumrents from Romania and Czechoslovakia. Even German labeled instruments today are not necesarily superior. In fact many of those violins were made for the most part in China! Some finishing work is done in Germany, and voila, you have label misinformation. Also, please be aware that the most popular violins sold in this price range from China are lableled with names such as "Eastman, Snow and Jay Haide." These "names" are NOT actual violin makers, but music companies doing the same thing as I am except that they put their name on the label. The pricey violin shops then charge 2-3 times MORE than I do. I have a couple of beautiful instruments starting at ONLY $495.

Please make an appointment to come try one out, and bring along anything else you're considering for comparison. Since I sell from my home and don't have any employees to pay, you'll find my prices are 50-70% LOWER than those found at Boston area violin shops. I'm happy to spend the time to answer all of your questions and to demonstrate the differences between multiple violins. Thanks for looking.

**NEW** As a service to those of you who feel that Easton is just too far to travel for a great buy in a violin, I am pleased to announce a new in home audition policy. If you'd like me to travel to your home, [MUST be within an hour's drive from Easton] I will bring up to 6 violins for you to try. The cost of this service is the same as if I were coming to your home to teach a violin lesson: $50 for 1/2 hour or $80 for full hour. HOWEVER, if at the end of the time period you have found a violin that you wish to purchase, the aforementioned cost will be DEDUCTED from the price of the violin! I don't know of any violin shops offering this service, and I hope this will encourage those of you with busy schedules to consider the violins I offer. I can assure you that if you are serious about buying a high quality instrument at the best possible price, you will not be dissapointed.

Morgan Monroe M-00 TBV "Blues 32" acoustic guitar for sale. I have owned this guitar for about 2 years. It plays well and has been well taken care of. When I bought it, I was looking for an acoustic that could handle open C and D tunings. Unlike many of the acoustics I tried in this price range, the detuned E string still sounds precise and clear. Also, because of the smaller 00 body shape, this is less boomy than some dreadnought guitars. It comes with a very sturdy hard shell case.
I can have it rewired for serious buyers, but If it am not going to sell it I need it to be 16ohms. This beast is solid as a rock! 128 pounds! It has two new casters that work well. This is made of wood with thick plastic on the outside. Has a few scrapes or dings, but nothing serious, mostly paint marks.

Silvertone 1484 Twin Twelve Tube Amp (Watertown, MA) $550

I never thought I'd be doing this but I'm selling my Silvertone 1484 Twin Twelve amp. The amp is fully functional, the head is in great shape, the cab has seen better days. There are some tears in the tolex and the corners are pretty rough. The face cloth is in place pretty well though and so is the Silvertone badge logo.

The amp is mostly original but has had a few modifications/improvements. A three prong power chord has been added (for proper grounding). Also a speaker output jack replaced the original speaker wire and there is even an impedance switch for the output (can choose 4 Ohms or 8 Ohms). There is no rust on the face plate, the transformers are great and the tubes still have life in them. To my knowledge, the speakers are original and they sound amazing. This amp is truly awesome and can be cranked up for some nice distortion at sane volumes.

The reverb and tremelo are both working. I don't have the original foot switch for the amp but have built one myself and will include this with the amp.

You can find details and reviews on this amp at Harmony Central - http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews/Guitar+Amp/product/Silvertone/1484+Twin-Twelve/10/1

Recently a number of people have been using these amps including Jack White of the White Stripes. If you want that classic garage rock sound or just a really nice bluesy breakup, this amp will do it for you. If you put a pedal in front of it, even a simple boost... this thing will scream for you. I used it when I recorded this song - http://www.sentientend.com/music/SentientEnd-04-Surface.mp3 Give it a listen to know what you are getting yourself into!

Check out the pics, I can send more if you'd like. Ask any questions via the Craig's List email. Thanks.

Antique Estey pump organ.
This organ was in our house over 50 years ago. For some reason it was dissasembled before we moved here.
I believe all the pieces are there, and it has been mostly reassembled, but it is still an unfinished project.

If anyone has an interest in this organ, to try to reassemble it or even just for parts, I am giving it away for free.
If no one wants it it will unfortunately end up in the dumpster.

In the picture you can see some of the pieces like the keyboard cover are laid out on the table next to the organ,
so although it looks like something is missing I believe we have all the parts.

Edwards Les Paul - Cherry Sunburst - w/ seymour duncans & gig-bag (Manchester, NH) $850

This is an Edwards LP in Cherry Sunburst w/ Seymour Duncan JB/59 set. This guitar is used and is pre-serial number from edwards (pre-2002). This guitar has an amazingly thick tone, probably from the fact that it weighs 10 lbs on the dot. If you're not familiar with Edwards, here's a little run-down:

Edwards are made in Japan, in the same factory as the ESP Standard Series line. Edwards is actually owned by ESP and is for the Japan market only. They are not sold by any dealers here in the US (probably because of the Gibson shaped headstocks and almost identical Gibson building techniques). With the Edwards line, ESP is trying to reproduce almost identical Gibson replicas. Tone woods, construction techniques and hardware. This Edwards is 10 lbs, which is about 2 lbs heavier than the newer ones, and has no weight-relieved holes, or hollowing of the body. This guitar has a long neck tenon, which produces great sustain and tone and has an absolutely gorgeous flamed maple cap. The hardware is a little tarnished in some areas, others are still perfectly shiny.

These guitars are hard to find locally, and can only be bought on ebay or through used guitar sellers here in the US as far as I know. This model is the E-LP-92SD

Most of them are $850+ and are $120+ shipping (coming from Japan) and the newer ones are lighter and don't have that vintage weight & tone. You'll save yourself $120+ in shipping, and have a guitar that sounds & feels like a Les Paul for a fraction of the price. Do yourself a favor and if you're not familiar, do some research. There are TONS of people out there who consider them to be Gibson LP Standard quality or higher, and many people prefer them to the Gibsons. Here is a link to a nice 52-page discussion of the Edwards brand: http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=219660

Here is a link comparing an Edwards LP 130 ($1200) to a Gibson VOS 1960 ($5,000+) The comparisons are staggering... ( Not my model, but shows you the attention to detail that Edwards uses on their guitars )

The only reason I am selling it is because times are tight. I actually just purchased it a few weeks ago after a long wait to get one, but things happen. The price is VERY firm because they are so hard to find and hard to replace for less than this. Pictures are from when I purchased it. The guitar is A LOT less "bright red" and more of a darker red around the flamed maple. It's absolutely gorgeous in person. The picture do it ZERO justice.

Thanks
