Hi,

We are looking for after school care for our three children starting in September.

Duties:
* pick up one child at Jacob's Elementary at 2:15p (he's in preschool); pick up the other child at Nantasket Preschool (his twin sister) at 2:30p; pick up last child at St. Paul School in Hingham at 2:45
* bring them back to our home
* give them a snack, play with them, read to them, etc

The hours would be from 2:15 until about 5p.

Requirements:
* own transportation (we'll provide car seats)
* excellent driving record
* excellent references

Please note that this is for only 15 hours per week, with the occasional evening, if you want more hours.
Mothers, grandmothers, and incredibly mature high school seniors are welcome to apply!

You need to contract the family you are working for to pay you full time wages regardless if you are watching their children or not. It's not your fault that they cancel and you should be compensated for setting your time aside, otherwise you'd work for someone else.

Let them know that you love working for them, and love thier kids but you just cannot financially handle the cancellations unless you are going to be paid regardless. Any day care would require full tuition regardless of attendance. Consider yourself no less important. It is your business after all.

I am not a childcare provider or nanny. This is my opinion as a parent. My scheduled sitter gets paid whether I need her or not. It's the ethical thing to do.

My 86yo father is getting to the stage where he would like to stay in his home but needs some help. We are looking for a pleasant person to visit him about 2 - 3 days per week for about 2 - 3 hours each visit. He needs help with doing his laundry, ironing, keeping the kitchen clean (putting dishes in dishwasher, then putting them away, wiping down countertops), taking him to the supermarket (or going food shopping for him), taking him other places like Dunkin Donuts for a cup of coffee, take him to his doctor's appts (He has a lot of doctor's appts, so it would be great if you could take him to some of these and take notes of what the doctor says to let us know since he sometimes can't hear or gets confused), etc. He is on oxygen, so he would need you to carry the small oxygen bag for him (and make sure the tank is full). It would be great if you could prepare lunch or dinner for him (depending on what time you are there), not necessarily cook, but just to heat something up he has in the freezer or leftovers or make a salad or sandwich for him. We want someone who will be proactive and do whatever is needed at the time.

We'd like the help as well as the companionship, so someone who will engage him in conversation would be great. He's quite funny and has lots of great stories to tell (sometimes you'll get to hear these stories several times! :). He does not have dementia and is quite sharp for his age.

Please let me know if you are interested and if so, what days/times would be best for you, and/or if you are flexible. Flexibility would be great! We understand that you may have things going on in your life too, so we could have a basic set schedule, but may need to revise it each week depending on appts, etc.

Also let us know of any experience you may have with working with the elderly, and what your hourly rate is.

Believe me, I love to have some time off here and there but financially of course I plan on a certain number of hours, no to mention it's hard to make plans w/ other employed friends at the last minute!

We are a family currently living in Boston in transition to Marshfield. Because of our relocation, our current nanny will be unable to stay with us. We have a three year old boy, as of this week, and a nineteen month old girl. We are looking to start employment the week of September 8. Since we both work in the city, we need someone to start their day at 630 am and work until about 6p to average 40 hours per week. The schedule is not set but would mirror our work schedules and would be provided one month in advance. Because we work some weekends, they would be a required part of the rotation along with the occasional mommy/daddy event.

We are looking for a caregiver that is patient, loving, and interactive with experience in toddler and preschooler care who will concur with our child rearing and discipline philosophies and approaches. Must be a non smoker and fond of cats. CPR certification is appreciated. We are interested in long term applicants. Other job responsibilities include, but not necessarily limited to, maintaining the children's laundry and supplies, food preparation, picking up their play areas, bathing and hygiene, and any assistance involving the care of the children.

I was employed at a daycare for over two and a half years, but left to find a change from the fast pace of a childcare center. As a previous employee of a childcare center, I am comfortable and well prepared to carry out activities such as play time (indoors and out) with educational as well as fun activities, nap time/ quiet time, cooking healthy meals, cleaning, etc. I think children need to be always using/developing their minds. I don't agree with pointless, non-educational tv watching. I would much rather children be outside playing, or doing something creative indoors such as reading, painting, coloring, dancing, puzzles, etc.

We live in Arlington (near Arlington Center) and have 3 young children ages 3 (girl), 20 months (boy) and 5 months (boy). We are looking for a responsible and fun non-smoker with child care experience and references to provide an occasional extra pair of hands in the afternoons. We hope to find someone willing to coordinate outdoor excursions (walks/trips to the playground etc.) and plan fun activities for our children. Although we may need assistance caring for our youngest from time to time, we are primarily looking for someone to watch our older two children. In addition to basic child care, we are also looking for someone to help prepare meals for the children and assist with general light housework (cleaning up after the children).

The hours are flexible, but would generally be from 3:00/3:30 p.m. - 6:00/6:30 p.m. Monday and Friday and possibly Wednesday. Rate can be negotiated based on experience.
