eBook Distribution Specialist
The eBook Distribution Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of new and updated content into all of O'Reilly's digital distribution channels. This position coordinates and manages the project flow of digital products; assesses problems, troubleshoots, and resolves issues reported by partners, customers, and coworkers. This position reports to the Publishing Services Manager, and is located at our offices in Cambridge, MA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage the integration of eBook and new content into digital retail channels (iTunes Store, Kindle Store, Android Market, direct, etc.)
• Coordinate the addition of new digital channels into company product mix
• Track and manage eBook and content updates
• Grasp technical concepts, tools, and specifications quickly
• Communicate clearly across multiple departments, vendors, and personalities with varying degrees of technical abilities
• Troubleshoot and solve problems reported by partners, customers, and coworkers
• Understand and explain technical data to non-technical colleagues (examples: data transmission, ONIX, FTP, images, metadata, eBook file formats)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS:
• 4-year college degree in communications, publishing, computer science, or other related field, or combination of relevant education and experience
• 3+ years work experience with responsibilities in a technical capacity
• Demonstrated proficiency in XML and XML-related technologies (XSLT, XQuery, etc.), XHTML, CSS
• Demonstrated project management skills
• Working knowledge of the design and utilization of complex digital publishing systems
• Working knowledge of various eBook formats and technologies
• General knowledge of digital metadata elements, particularly ONIX and the Atom Publishing Protocol
• Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently within team environment and cross-departmentally
• Ability to manage vendor relationships including professionals in various specialties
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills

No relocation available for this position. No telecommuting. This is an onsite position only.
