We are seeking to hire an Information Architect, responsible for constructing the architecture of websites based on information organization, effective usability, an understanding of web technologies and trends, and, most importantly, a thorough understanding of a client’s company and website goals.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with client and ask appropriate questions to learn their company and website goals
- Conduct heuristic and competitive analyses
- Conduct User Research- perform user goal and task analyses to build personas, scenarios, requirements, and test scripts
- Create sitemaps, wireframes and pageflows to illustrate recommendations, document complex applications and functionality, and ensure an effective user experience
- Understand Web technologies, functional possibilities, and client admin needs to recommend the appropriate solutions within the scope of the project
- Conceptualize ideal user paths/task flows/scenarios
- Conduct usability testing- paper prototypes, clickable prototypes, script writing, moderating
- Understand, apply, and promote usability standards and best practices
- Work with Design and Development to ensure that the groundwork you lay enables all teams to stay within budget
- Present findings and recommendations to client, and interact with client when necessary
Qualifications:
- Past experience developing sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, recommendations reports and/or other UX documentation
- The ability to skillfully and professionally present findings and recommendations
- 3+ years work experience in Web Design, Human Factors, Information Architecture, or related field
- Understanding of, and interest in, user-centric interactive design philosophies and methodologies
- Basic understanding of xml, database-driven and CMS-driven websites
- Familiarity with current web development technologies and standards, including but not limited to: X(HTML), CSS, Javascript, AJAX and Flash is a plus
- Ability to understand the parameters of a project and be able to innovate within those parameters
- Knowledge of architecture-related software- Adobe Illustrator, Axure, Visio, Adobe InDesign, Mindjet
- Attention to detail, driven, ability to work independently in a fast-paced, small firm environment
