A prominent Boston company is looking for a web designer with development and marketing skills to fill an opening in their busy marketing department.
The Web Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing, managing and executing all electronic marketing initiatives and related technologies to facilitate e-communications. The range of skills required include programming, maintenance, evaluation, analysis and reporting, data gathering, creating and managing processes relating to workflow and approvals, and working proactively with division representatives at all levels.

Responsibilities:
" Website Development & Management
o Serve as the primary point-of-contact for corporate and domestic divisional websites and landing pages; ensure all content is consistent and up-to-date and all functionality is operational.
o Provide quarterly website and landing page reporting (using Google Analytics or comparable tracking software); should include executive summary, detailed analysis of website and user behavior statistics, and recommended site and user experience improvements.
o Use search engine optimization tools to review corporate and divisional websites on a quarterly basis and present findings to the marketing team and respective divisions.
o Maintain domain name registration list (for all corporate and client URLs); ensure existing domain renewals and new domain registrations occur as needed.
o Conduct quarterly review of competitive websites and distribute write-up on findings and recommended changes to corporate and domestic divisional websites.
o Act as a liaison with international subsidiaries regarding website and email best practices; present recommendations biannually.
o Develop user survey to assess user behavior on corporate and divisional websites and make recommendations for website enhancements.

" Email Campaign Development & Management
o Develop and manage annual email marketing program; entails creating annual email blast calendar; coordinating appropriate email lists for distribution, and tracking lists used per campaign
o Design, program and project manage individual email blasts; test and obtain approvals prior to execution provide reporting and analysis on key metrics (delivery and campaign effectiveness - responses).



o Provide consultative support for best practices application specifically in the areas of technology and mechanics supporting bounce back management, email validation, CAN-SPAM compliance, white listing and other areas that facilitate email acceptance from a technology standpoint.
o Conduct ongoing review of competitive email blasts; present findings and recommended improvements on a quarterly basis.

" Database Management:
o Maintenance of distribution lists for email blasts
o Export, import and format distribution lists from Excel and Access
o Manage duplication process
o Track unsubscribes, bounces and updates to email distribution lists


Social Media:
o Create a comprehensive social media strategy to define programs that use social media marketing techniques to increase brand visibility and lead generation with an emphasis on Twitter and Facebook.
o Track competitor usage of social media marketing and provide bi-annual report.
o Monitor trends in social media tools, trends and applications and appropriately apply that knowledge to increasing the use of social media.
o Strategize with and educate the management team and others across the firm on incorporating relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and into all of the firm's services.
o Measure the impact of social media on the overall marketing efforts.

New Media Technology:

o Continually research new media technology opportunities and present recommendations to marketing team on a quarterly basis; these include, but are not limited to creating webinars, blogs or video/flash animation, etc.

Qualifications:
" Bachelor's degree in marketing or communications preferred (or equivalent work experience)
" 5 years minimum experience in corporate marketing environment specifically responsible for electronic marketing (web and email) or agency experience with "client service" experience
(internal and/or external)
" Intermediate level: SQL/Database driven websites, Photoshop, MS Access, Website Statistical Reporting (Google Analytics preferred)
" Advanced level: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash
" Knowledge of email campaign software
" Knowledge of ColdFusion or ASP platforms preferred
