Responsibilities:
* Develop new software features for all Reviewed.com publications in PHP / MySQL.
* Innovate with new front end CSS, Javascript and AJAX features as well as optimization of our content management platform.
* Work closely with the editorial staff developing new software features to make our publications easier to use, navigate and understand.
* Help make our reviews and websites easier to use, easier to understand and more effective for our readers helping them make informed gadget purchases.
Qualifications:
* 3-5 years experience programming in PHP / MySQL web applications and redundant fault testing in a Linux load balanced environment.
* Experience with database optimization and information architecture design.
* BA or Masters Degree in Computer Science or similar field.
* Strong proficiency in CSS, Javascript and AJAX.
* Experience programming Web 2.0 applications.
* While design experience is not needed, a deep respect of good design and good user experience is needed to help execute our design visions.
* Experience working with high page view publications on medium sized server implementations as well as cluster computing and cloud computing.
* Knowledge of Google APIs including Analytics, AdManager, AdSense, AdWords.
The company is located in Somerville, MA, steps from the Red Line in Davis Square. No telecommuting.
