Skiing and hiking are very close: 1/4 mile to Mount Ascutney ski resort, and 1/8 mile to the
Mount Ascutney State Park trail head, where you can hike Mt. Ascutney to 3100 ft. elevation.
Or you can paddle the Connecticut river 5 minutes away.
Woodstock, Vermont is 15 minutes away, and between Woodstock,
South Woodstock, Reading, and Brownsville are miles of rolling farms, wild woods, and horse country.
The area has lots of country backroads, and is centrally
located for day trips to other beautiful towns -- it is less than an hour
down to Brattleboro or up to Montpellier.
